My tip to get it round:
If you have those paper tissues in the kitchen that are on a roll, use an empty roll as stabilizer for the bamboo place mat.
I planned on putting the bamboo mat around it, to see the exact size and cut it that was, then put glue on the carton roll and wrap the bamboo mat around it.
If you do not have the time/patience to hold it until it's dry, use clothes pins to hold it in place.

From the rest of the bamboo ma you can make top and bottom
