Security peoples are crazy), mostly because it's HEAVY. I'd suggest looking into other carved guns to see what kind of wood was used, or even the kind of wood used in real muskets. It's going to be sturdy enough to hold up. Though, since you're old enough to buy a gun, why not try to find a broken musket on the cheap and say, replace the barrel with PVC tubing and take out the guts? XD Of course you might think that's a horrible thing to do to a nice old gun. Even if it is broken.
