This game probably won't sell too well in North America if they keep that name.

I think Nioh means something like the protectors who stand guard outside a gate at Japanese Buddhist temples. I'm pretty sure that's what it is or just protectors of Buddha in general.

Anyways, if you guys already don't know Ni-Oh is based on a previously lost script from the legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. The movie, which was set to be Kurosawa's sons directoral debut, was cancelled.

The funny thing is that the name of the movie and game was going to be called Oni. Though there is already another game called Oni so I think that's why they originally changed the name to Ni-Oh.
