Yes, sorry, I would advise Ling Tong's Legend. I remembered about reading that today as I was playing. I've yet to unlock it myself. What I'm saying is that there doesn't seem to be any concrete way of gaining EXP and money quickly. No ways of exploiting anywho. Everything seems to be smoother in multiplayer (quicker missions, experience and money.) But that's 0-10% of the population I believe. 
There are the Bravery and Bounty Orbs. Both give more money and deeds (which spells EXP) at certain degrees of use. It's not much, but it adds up in the long run.
