I don't think she was even based on the Sanada Ten Braves because all I know is that no kunoichi in the Ten Braves (Kosuke Anayama was a guy). Because Kunoichi is only based on the Sanada Brave Ten (and doesn't even have a real name), her gender doesn't really matter. It's similiar to Hu Zhi and Xun Yu in Kessen 2. They were males in the book and real life but in the game they both are females.
