Okay so, I want to know if I can be FRIENDS with Shang Xiang? I was playing through empires as my CAW just kinda screwing around in the battle of Guan Du, I joined Sun Ce and the event "Join SSX's faction came up" I didn't want to so I ignored it. after a while during the Strategy phase she came up and was all like "Oh so you think you're better than me because I'm a woman ha! Think again!" Ok... Then next turn it gave me the option to MARRY HER? o_O That was the end result I was hoping for but I wanted to be friends first so she'd come into battle with me. Is there any way to do this?

TL;DR: I want to be friends with Sun Shang Xiang, she says it's marriage or nothing, HELP.

i had a similar problem, i married my CAW,Mai, but i was not friends with her, she was in my army though so i saw her a few times but she couldn't come to battle with me, so i tried overthrowing my leader, but only my other friends came, so i tried entering battle with my leader in the territory she was in, and she just joined my side, like that, and she became my friend with no event at all. Now your most likely thinking that you dont want to leave your leader, and i understand that but listen to what happened next....

I wanted to get back to my leader, so i stepped down and took my friends(including my wife) with me, i then tried to go back into the ranks of my old leader, this didn't work, he would not accept me, (this is where i saved) i waited awhile, and i saw that he and Yuan shao were fighting often, so i joined the ranks of Yuan, and i waited untill a battle between he jin(my old ruler) and yuan shao(my current one) during this battle i defected and now im back with my old ruler.
