Though I think it will end up doing more to combine #2 and 3. In the end, I think it will just be a thing that Sekigahara will be the major battle that will encompass a number of characters' storylines, but not ALL of the characters. For example, for the sake of Nobunaga, I don't even see him getting to Sekigahara, unless it's an AU-version of the conflict that has him fending off Ieyasu and/or Hideyoshi/Hideyori at the same time. Likewise, I see little reason for some one like Matsu to participate, unless she "just happened to be picking mushrooms for Inuchiyo-sama's soup on the fields of Sekigahara, and then all hell broke lose, and she's gotta FIGHT her way out!" But otherwise, I can see it working just fine. I mean, the likes of Masamune and Yukimura have "workable" reason to be present at Seki, but others don't, and can just be doing their own thing. That's all that I could really ask for.
