Nah all 3 kills were after it was announced to be activated and before it was announced that it wore off. I just don't find this particular tactic useful. I do have a query as to obtaining fourth weapons. I have most of them, but others have been very difficult to come by. For instance I used Ieyasu once and got his last weapon right away, but in the same scenario I have fought about 6 to 8 battles with Kenshin and have still not gotten his last weapon and it is quite frustrating. Why am I not getting his last weapon? I get tons of kills, he's level 20, the weaponsmith is maxed out, what gives?
