Nurturing Spirits Posts: 1,965 Group: Members Member #10,930 Joined: November 9, 2007 Gender Female	Well, I don't remember if I ever posted in this (checked a few pages back, didn't find anything), but my ranting in the Worst Female Character thread made me realize that I'm much too harsh on female game characters. So, time for some hatin' on the men. Oh, there's a lot there, trust me. Naoe Kanetsugu. A guy that I never, ever get tired of hating and listing the reasons why I hate him. Granted, I've come to... enjoy... playing as him in WO2, but that does nothing to redeem him. His constant rants about justice, honor and love are quite sickening and his self-righteous nature bugs the ever living crap out of me. Maybe it's because I'm a Masamune fangirl (though there are times I want to kick him too), but dear GOD, at least Masamune is more honest about his ways (ehhhh, for the most part, until his sudden epiphany in his story) and accepts it. I always love playing as Masamune, just for the sole purpose that I get to beat the ever livin' snot out of Kanetsugu, beat him like a Pinata. Instead of candy, he'll probably bleed NAGS and JUSTICE. Ugh. SHUT. UP. Ishida Mitsunari. Not as much verbal and aggressive hate towards him as I do with Kanetsugu, but here's another character that pretty much makes me want to gag. Don't care for his moveset or his lackluster, snobbish 'I'll put you down, but only to hide my own insecurities' personalities. He actually made me like Ieyasu so, so SO much more, so I guess he served his purpose. If anything, it makes me enjoy playing the Eastern Army's side at my most hated level ever, if only to tear apart his entire army and then proceed to wack away at him like a douchebag shaped pinata. Not even his 'relationship' with Hideyoshi made him likeable to me. And that's saying a lot! Also could explain why I like Nene more than I probably should and makes her ending enjoyable. Sweet justice! You deserve more than split-slobbered rice to the face, but that's enough to please me momentarily. Maeda Toshiie. Actually, believe it or not, I actually hate this guy more than Kanetsugu. Yep, Kanetsugu fans REJOICE, because I'd rather sit through one of his JUSTICE filled rants while sodomizing my beloved Masamune with the pole of HONOR, than to ever, ever, EVER play through his story again. He reminds me of... Oichi! Except even WORSE, because unlike being a woman and having little power, Toshiie had multiple chances to change the course of action. Now, I wasn't going for a 'happy ending, Katsuie lives and they're all fwiends yay', but I would have liked to have seen Toshiie... you know... GROW UP? At least Oichi admits it's her fault and accepts what she's done at the end of her story (eh, sorta? I was too busy laughing. I'm heartless.) Whereas Toshiie blames all of his troubles and HIS MISTAKES AND ACTIONS on Hideyoshi (who TAKES it? Bad, Hideyoshi... I know you're not a masochist). You know, it's hard for me to feel pity for someone who chose his path, knowing full and well that 'hey, this means turning my back on the man that raised me and accepting that the world is changing!' He chose to pursue his desires, which was to become a famous warrior or whatever the hell it was, and thought that following Hideyoshi would be the one to get him there. Then, suddenly, he wants to take everything back, when it's already too late? Geez, Toshiie, all this hype I heard about you, and THIS is the story Koei chose for you? Grow. Some. Balls. Bad stuff happens, sometimes it's your own doing. Don't throw a temper tantrum about it. Grow some balls, be a man! Beating up a monkey that you willingly chose to follow in your quest for personal glory won't develop your character. Not even a little. Now, wipe the dust off your pants, brush away those tears, and BE A MAN. (Yes, I have a lot of hate in me.) And all this hate for Yoshimoto? Oh well, guess it's bound to happen. I much preferred his story in SW1XL, though... it seemed deeper, more involving to the characters and the time period than how isolated he was in SW2XL. I dunno, am I making any sense? I loved both of his archs, too... both endings pleased me greatly. As for Goemon. Oh please, I'd rather have him every day of the week over the other three I mentioned. Hell, give him his own game...
