Graphical Changes

  • Graphic style is changed to using cell-shading
  • Camera angle is changed to be closer to get a better look at the new cell-shaded graphic, and will change further on certain occasions such as MS transformation or Unicorn Gundam turning its Destroy Mode on
  • HP bar is now located at top left just like Hokuto Musou (FoTNS Ken's Rage)
The gauge display is as follows
    Posted Image
    Left is Booster
Then there's HP and SP gauge we all already know
Small bars below SP gauge are the SP level stocks
The C thingy on the right is for 'Partner Strike' (new thing explained below)

Gameplay Changes
Partner Strike

  • A new addition here is having support mech which will provide support fire when called
  • The C-like thing above is the gauge to call a Partner Strike, and when filled out, you can press R2 to call
  • Ways to fill the Partner Strike gauge are by conquering an Outpost Base, or getting Partner Call items from enemy ace drops or item boxes
  • There may be around 50 selectable partner mechs (49-51)
Partners have different kinds of supports, which can be included into one of the following categories *NEW*

  • Funnel
Funnel-type mechs deploy their funnels around your unit to provide support fire or defense
Amuro Ray (Nu Gundam) - Deploys Fin Funnels to form a Fin Funnel Barrier
Haman Karn (Qubeley) - Deploys Funnels that will give support fire
  • Rush
Rush-types, as the name suggest, do a rush attack towards an enemy crowd
Master Asia (Master Gundam) - Launches Choukyuu Haoh Den'eidan
Kamille Bidan (Z Gundam) - Waverider Crash
  • Screw
Screw-types pull nearby enemies with their attack
Duo Maxwell (Deathscythe Hell) - Beam scythe spin pulls nearby enemies
    Full Frontal (Sinanju)
  • Lockon
Lockon-type mechs will attack enemies you are currently attacking
Heero Yuy (Wing Zero) - Shoots Twin Buster Rifle
    Setsuna F Seiei (00 Raiser)
  • Special
Special-types will give recovery advantages to allied army
Cecily Fairchild (Gundam F91) - Recovers portion of ally morale gauge
Sochie Heim (Kapool) - Recovers portion of HP
  • Assist
Assist-type mechs launch support fire that covers the area around the player
Trowa Barton (Heavyarms Kai) - Gives support fire from above
Emma Sheen (Gundam Mk-II) - Shoots bazooka from above
  • Wide Range
Wide Range-type mechs, mostly MAs, will launch destructive widerange attacks, however it will take longer for them to do the attack
Dozle Zabi (Big Zam) - Fires Mega Beam Cannon
Four Murasame (Psycho Gundam) - Generates a large explosion
AI, Morale, Respawn

  • Enemy AI is made much more aggressive that you could die in a few hits if not careful
  • You can respawn under certain conditions because the enemy AI is becoming so aggressive that proceeding with the usual manner would become problematic this time around
  • The morale gauge has been reworked. Now there are two different morale bars similar to Gundam vs Gundam: Blue for allied army and Red for enemy army. The bars are depleted when bases are taken by opposing army or named aces are defeated
  • The blue morale bar represents allied army's morale. As long as this bar isn't empty, ally aces including yourself can keep respawning
  • The portion of morale bar that are taken will be used to replenish your HP when respawning. For the last respawn that empties the morale bar, you might not respawn with full HP so be careful with that
  • The red morale bar represents enemy army's morale. Same with the ally one, enemy aces will also respawn while this bar isn't empty. Once the bar is emptied out, the enemy boss will appear
  • The general victory conditions are:
Victory - Reduce enemy morale gauge to zero and defeat the enemy boss
Defeat - Get shot down when ally morale gauge is empty
HP Regeneration

  • HP Regen is added to the game. When taking damage there are grayed portions in the HP bar. After a while of not taking damage the portion flashes and the HP regens in accordance to the portion
  • It looks like not only your own unit but all other MS in the stage also have HP regen
Emergency Dash

  • When you are being juggled by enemies, you can press dash to execute a swift evasive dash
  • You can also execute an emergency dash in the middle of S-string attack
  • Pressing dash before a charge attack hits will result in this harmless dash cancel. To perform a damaging dash cancel (Boost Dash), press dash after the charge attack hits
Induced Explosion

  • When you destroy enemy MS using a charge attack or a SP attack, when they explode there will be a pink blast
  • This blast will damage nearby enemy units as well and could cause chain explosions
  • It can and will help rack up shotdown score, especially right after conquering an enemy field
Special Fields
Some bases now have specific roles and effects when captured and symbolized by certain labels. Examples are

  • Main Base A Posted Image
When captured, the strength of army who first held the base decreases greatly
  • Main Base B Posted Image
Capturing this certain type of enemy base will cause enemy aces to stop respawning
  • Catapult Posted Image
Enables you to go into another specified base instantly
  • Outpost Base Posted Image
When this base is conquered, one Partner Strike gauge will be instantly filled. Also, as long as this base is in possession, the PS gauge will be filled by itself
  • Communication Facility Posted Image
Ally base: Allows ally reinforcements to be called in
Enemy base: If captured, enemy reinforcements will retreat
  • Missile Base Posted Image
Launches missiles to a specified enemy field if conquered
  • Newtype Laboratory Posted Image
The army that conquers this field gets increased strength
  • Repair Hangar Posted Image
Allows grunts for army that conquers the field to regen their HP
Mobile Suit Lab

  • Instead of parts, MS assembly will be done by collecting MS blueprints and assembling it by paying money
  • MS blueprints will have ranks, and the MS stats will be determined by it
  • There will be missions which will unlock higher rank for the blueprints
  • You can now have up to 4 units of a MS type, or in other words, 4 same MS with different rank and stats
  • Post-build upgrades are possible with adding upgrades to any stats, however the allowed number is limited by finite upgrade slots
Pilot Strengthening

  • You now not only increase stats from leveling up, but also from training
  • Training costs money to participate. There are 4 levels of training available:
    Beginner Class Training (3000 gold)
    Intermediate Class Training
    Advanced Class Training
    Yazan Team's Special Training
  • Skills are now buyable through shop. For example, Barrage Shot costs 1000 gold
  • Of course not all skills are going to be available from the start. Some will be only available after clearing certain missions or fulfilling certain requirements
Sympathy System *NEW*

  • The criticized friendship system from GW2 has been revamped into a new system, called the Sympathy system
  • Contrary to friendship, sympathy level can only go up, and never goes down
  • All characters met in the game will start at sympathy level 1, and as you interact with them as allies their sympathy level will increase
  • As sympathy level increases, there will be benefits related to that character, such as
Character will be unlocked as playable pilot
Character can be selected as partner
Character can be selected as operator
Character's original MS is powered up
Character will be able to pilot Newtype MS
  • Here's an example of sympathy level benefits on Banagher Links
    Lv2 - Selectable as Partner
    Lv3 - None
Lv4 - Unicorn Gundam is powered up
    Lv5 - Selectable as Operator
  • With how the system is designed, it looks like the sympathy levels will be shared with all playable pilots

  • Smash Attack has been removed
  • Grunt MS will also have charges and aerial attacks this time around
  • The license system has been changed. Now by using a MS with a certain default pilot (e.g. Setsuna in 00 Raiser) for about 5 times, the license for it will be unlocked at a shop so that other characters can purchase the licenses there
  • SP stock level is now determined by pilot's level rather than MS parts
  • There may be around 60 (61-63) total playable pilots, new and returning
  • On the pre-sortie menu you can see slots for 3 skills, Partner character and Operator
  • Looks like Operator is a new addition here. It is currently unknown whether having a different operator will have different effects other than quotes
  • Currently confirmed operator is a Haro (The likes of Audrey Burne, Tiffa Adill and Fa Yuiry are very likely to be added here as well)

Story Mode
An extensive original crossover storyline like seen in the first game is back here
Characters from various series end up getting stranded at a parallel world. As they wander around the land they gain new companions.
It seems like this time the groups will have more members than GW1's 3 main members. So far 3 'major factions' are revealed.
  • Group A: People who understand each other
    Click for Storyline preview
    Confirmed members:
    Amuro Ray
    Kou Uraki
    Setsuna F. Seiei
    Kira Yamato
    [Tiffa Adill]

  • Group B: People who doubt each other
    Click for Storyline preview
    Confirmed members:
    Banagher Links
    Char Aznable
    Ribbons Almark
    (Seabook Arno?)

  • Group C: People who disagree with each other
    Click for Storyline preview
    Confirmed members:
    Garrod Ran
    Haman Karn
    Paptimus Scirocco
    [Audrey Burne]
    (Loran Cehack?)
The Mission Mode from previous game is incorporated here, as there will be more missions than just the story missions, and that there will be around 300 missions in total

This is the list of mission categories in the mode *NEW*

  • Chapter - the main original crossover storyline missions as mentioned above
  • History Mission - the official story missions. It looks like used character and MS may be fixed for these missions
  • Memorial Mission - missions that become available after fulfilling certain conditions such as 10000 total shotdowns. Clearing this mission will enable you to unlock new skills or powerful blueprints
  • Challenge Mission - the high-difficulty missions (aka. GW2's Extra Mission)
  • Friendship Mission - mission where character of certain categories may appear as allies, such as 'female characters', or 'Titans characters'
  • Relation Mission - missions that become available after a pilot's sympathy has reached a certain level
  • Tutorial Mission - self explanatory

Online Mode

  • Online Co-op is confirmed, with up to 4 players being able to have a co-op session together
  • There will be around 15 online-specific missions with harder objectives not seen in single-player, such as conquering certain fields in order or fighting Big Zams
  • Players will be able to heal each other, called Partner Support
  • While waiting for user matching, you can play the single player mode until another user comes along
  • It seems like you won't be able to have the same characters in a stage? (e.g. no two Hamans)
  • (Rumor: Worldwide Online Co-op may be coming?)

Other Known Informations

  • Zero-gravity space maps are not included. Instead they are using surfaced space maps similar to A Baoa Qu, like moon planes
  • Bonus for getting first print copies is download code for early unlocks of Musha Gundam and Musha Mk-II
