The only way to really know would be to ask the people since there are no actual references to Onimusha in Kessen 3 other than the name which is technically his real name, so doesn't exactly count. Interesting theory, though.

Calm before the storm: Musashi may counter the next move his opponent makes and deals 2x the damage. 1/2 chance of working. Wise one: Tactics used by Musashi have a much higher chance of succeeding.
