It's funny how SW4 Oda clan DLC costumes were for free, but now they are for sale.

Oops, someone at KOEI Japan got in trouble for that one :sly:

Probably wasn't supposed to be free in the first place :asia:

- Additional story mode (Chapters 5-8)
- New characters (8 total)
- Unlimited Mode (dungeon crawler mode w/ unique final boss)
- New Aerial R1 special attacks for everyone
- New Triple Rush attack (upgraded assist attack, basically)
--> Includes unique combinations when done with certain characters
- Level cap now 100, plus you can reincarnate characters to increase stats beyond normal level (9 reincarnations available --> level 900)
- New rare weapon skills and items
--> Some rare skills combine Bolt+Flame, Wind+Slay, etc. to make even more OP weapons than before
- Increased number of item slots from 2 to (6?) including separate item slot for horse/mount
- New 5* and mystic weapons (5* from Unlimited Mode = +99 attack)
- Can now sell weapons at the Blacksmith
- Increased caps for gems, crystals and lottery tickets

KOEI Wiki

  • Everyone has been tweaked to play slightly different than the original game a la Warriors Orochi 2. The maximum level cap is 100 instead of 99; stock experience is capped at 999,999 as opposed to 99,999. Character growth is influenced by weapon enhancements and character parameters, meaning that even maximum leveled characters can still be altered to a degree. Upon maximizing a character's level, players can reset them for permanent stat bonuses up to three times (or nine after downloading the 1.05 update patch).
  • All members in a player's team can fight on the field simultaneously by tapping the down button.
  • Each character is given a second personal skill that contributes to the team's overall stats.
  • "Triple Rush", a stronger variation of Switch Combos, launches foes into the air for greater combo freedom. It is easier to cancel attacks using this skill. Unique versions are triggered by performing the attack using a specific set of characters, with more than 50 team combinations available.
  • "Midair Tie Up Action" is a new aerial R1 attack which drains a portion of the Musou gauge to use. The action performed is reliant on the user's type (Power, Speed, Technique, Wonder).
  • Technique types have a new ability: press X while being attacked to shift behind the opponent.
  • Two players can activate their teams' Musou to have all six characters attack with a special energy effect. This is called "Shin Musou Burst".
  • Dynasty Warriors 8's version of horse whistling is present. Press up on the directional pad to use it.
  • Characters can now carry four to six items instead of two. The two extra slots are unlocked at level 100. A separate slot is available for saddles. New items are in the game.
  • New five-star weapons and unique "mystic weapons" for the entire cast can be acquired by completing specific requirements within Story or Free Mode. New weapon attributes are available. The limit cap for crystals is 999.
  • The maximum K.O. count is now 10,000.
  • A Samurai Warriors 3-like color editor is available to customize characters' appearances. Unlocked by clearing the final chapter, this feature is restricted to non-downloadable costumes.
  • Downloadable content so far includes costumes and weapons. Save data and DLC from Warriors Orochi 3 can be transferred to Ultimate; PS Vita users will need to repurchase previous DLC.
Just to name a few things

What would be wrong with a dub? Just don't want it to take longer?

In the case of WO3U, its more that it'd be impossible. There's no way they'd dub dialogue for 145 characters. They didn't do it for WO3, don't see why they'd do it for Ultimate. It would cost them way too much, especially considering Ultimate is not likely to sell more than the original WO3.

I don't like English dubs in KOEI games. In DW8XL they ruined Zhang Liao's voice. They keep changing in voice acting.
KOEI also doesn't have enough money to buy great voice actors. DW5 has the best voice acting i have ever seen.

I get that it's likely not to, but the not wanting them to as long as Japanese is an option seems silly to me :P

WO has had notoriously bad English VAs though

For me voice acting is important sometimes in videogames. It makes the character better. :P

I like understanding what I hear too. But I also like consistency and that is something the English dubs always lack, for a variety of reasons.

I can live with the subtitles for the most part. I miss some things while in battle, but nothing critical.

Good voice acting can make a character better.

Bad voice acting can have the opposite effect :hehe:

I think every voice actor adds a bit of themselves to the character's personality and that's what I often don't notice in English dubs. I do have some favourite English VAs,but, honestly, Japanese voice acting is far better to me.

Well its hard to notice this in the English voices because they're always changing :XD

There were some flawless English VAs. Da Ji in Warriors Orochi 1-2, for example. She nailed the role perfectly and was as cunning and manipulative as her JP counterpart.
