I could never get into Fallout myself, although never tried the old ones if you mean those

But I agree on Skyrim :P
Why I dislike the comparing everything to Skyrim :beard:
You mean the story or the gameplay? The gameplay is like your average run-of-the-mill shooter, with RPG elements (perks, attributes etc.) to it. I like shooting oversized mole rats and half-rotten humanoids. The story is rather plain, though.

Never played Fallout 1 & 2, didn't like the gameplay.

I never liked Skyrim, it's inferior to Oblivion. Apart from the conversations between NPC's...

I don't hate the gameplay itself, using magic is way more balanced than it was in Oblivion, but the amount of spells available is pathetic. The execution sequences are pretty neat, though.

Also, dragons suck and the game is full of them.

Respect, rival. :ph43r:

We share that opinion regarding Skyrim and Oblivion :P
While quite common many also prefer Skyrim or just dislike both, so aye.

I have played Fallout, the RPG elements did seem nice, but the shooting I couldn't get into, largely because of the fact things just took so long to die normally
My brother loves Fallout New Vegas though, so I know plenty of it :ph43r:

Sakon doesn't seem to care much.

Fallout New Vegas was entertaining, but not as good as Fallout 3. Subway crawling in pitch black darkness.

Sakon is just trolling, acting like he can't push it. :P

That's a very variable issue :P

Story wise New Vegas wins hands down though, gameplay I couldn't get into, but seen quite a lot as my brother played them, 3s story was just bad, even if the game seemed pretty good. New Vegas has a much more solid story, even if the start was a bit cliche :P
And it's also apparently much more faithful to the original Fallouts in setting as well as story, so older fans of the series tend to prefer New Vegas as well.

My brother also prefers the gameplay of New Vegas, but the environments not so much.

That's true, the storyline of New Vegas has a lot of references to the original fallout games, whereas Fallout 3 had it's own setting, with the so-called 'Enclave' being intact and all. The story was very cliche, dad's missing, find dad...

Spoiler: click to toggle

The story wasn't that much better in New Vegas, you're tracking someone again, kicking the hornets nest causing unrest and a final battle. Without much interference of the Brotherhood of Steel, whom had a minor role in NV, sadly.

But the arsenal and the locations were kinky (cool), standing on hoover dam and gambling on the strip etc.
Can't wait for the 4th installment.

Also last, and there's nothing you can do about it.

At least you get to pick a side for the battle, I like choices in my RPGs :P
Conceptually of course, as I said never played much of it

Saw the edit, sneaky bastard. You've played it. :hehe:

That's true, I suppose. You didn't get to do that in 3.

EDIT: Haven't seen the Paranoia / Decay twins in a while. Shame.

Nah, like I said saw my brother play a lot of it. I played more of 3 than New Vegas myself, played quite a bit of 3 but didn't enjoy it too much, New Vegas was more of the same to me as far as gameplay went.

Don't think I got out the first wee area of New Vegas myself :P
