I wish I still connected with the idea of forum violence, no amount of it would satisfy me currently :asia:

Yeah, still playing it every now and then, waiting on that DLC as well. Seems pretty early, but the game did feel quite short really so not complaining about more content

so short that someone went through the whole game in like... 20 minutes...

Probably with that binocular glitch for insane running if that short

Last I knew it was like 1 hour 15 minutes as quickest, but that was before that glitch was really known

It is weird you can skip all the Great Souls to progress.

I don't think that the game's short myself, it took me like more than 60 hrs to finish... but then again i like going around just for going around, doing nothing... and i collect everything so...

The game isn't that short as a whole, but compared to it's predecessors it definitely does feel shorter.
Although that might just be because of how straight forward it is once you reach the castle, from then on once you know how to approach everything it just flies by. Early bits take some time.

I took about 40-50 hours myself, trying to collect everything also (found out were some secrets I missed and such later, but obviously hard to get everything) and just wandering around, plus sitting at bonfires for bits as I did other things.

Once you know where things are though, even collecting everything and going at quite a slow pace takes maybe 10 hours to clear. Still relatively long, could probably clear Dark Souls quicker, but you don't even have to take any shortcuts to achieve a short time in Dark Souls 2 so IDK.

Still, definitely a good game regardless.

maybe it feels shorter because it is kind of easier.. i dont know about u but the game feels easier to me.. and like you said it is pretty straightforward whereas the first one was much more complicated (at least for me it was)

but like you said it is still a good game and it is worth of replaying just for going through all the enemies, the locations and through the process of collecting everything (or trying to) again.. the art direction and the immersion is simply amazing

i wish the game had mod tools on launch like skyrim has. default skyrim is a pretty bland game but mods make it a fantastic game. imagine what they would do to an already good game like ds2

Yeah, it definitely is easier. Covenant of Champions puts it to a nice wee difficulty level though, most things still seem easy to face outright, just because attacks are normally so telegraphed, but punishes you more for messing up since they hit harder and take longer to kill, which makes it feel more like Dark Souls to me.
It's funny actually, I wouldn't say the first was more complicated, it's just it was much more interconnected and much less direct. 2 just has you go down one of multiple paths and keep going along said path til you hit a dead end which teleports you back to Majula. I mean it's the same way the Lord Soul encounters went, but it feels more fitting for an end stage rather than an opening one.

I have a lot of issues with the game, but I've played it for over 200 hours now, so must enjoy it regardless

I've never actually been someone who mods much, never modded the original Dark Souls (even though I got it on PC with that specific intent  ), never modded Skyrim or Oblivion or such, never RPGs basically.
Still, would have been nice, I'd probably try and work on some if they were officially supported, wanted to try modding some games but no games I really like enough that are easy to get into modding for :P
Also interested in getting a lighting mod (and a HUD mod actually) I've seen in some videos, makes the torches actually seem to matter :ph43r:
