How you find Hyrule Warriors anyway, rival? :asia:
Seeing your post elsewhere :beard:

I got it on my birthday a few days back from my brother :ph43r:

Well, I'm a DW/SW fan before I'm a Zelda fan, so I'm evaluating it based on that. Many of the characters just do not interest me at all, but the combat certainly does. They were able to design good move sets even for characters that I really just don't like. I think this game allowed their development team to really think outside the box and design stuff we've not seen before in the Warriors' games, and they did a pretty good job with it.

The gameplay is smooth, the graphics hold up pretty well on the Wii U (I've not experienced the typical Omega Force lag when the action gets intense), and their DLC support for the game is phenomenal.

I'm pretty sure the only reason I don't play it as often is because I'd rather play SW4 or WO3U on the PS3 :asia: I waited years/months for those games, built anticipation for them, watched every teaser clip, etc. whereas Hyrule came out of nowhere and as a non-Zelda fan it took me awhile to embrace it.

My oldest daughter loves it and has been wanting to play a Zelda game for years, so I got Hyrule and Wind Waker HD this past year, primarily for her and secondarily for me to warm up to the Zelda franchise. I'm still working on that, as you probably could tell :asia:

Yeah, never played a Zelda game myself, although knows bits and pieces, mostly from Ocarina of Time :asia:

I had no hype for this game and no real expectations, but this is the Warriors game I've most gotten into since the PS2 era

Of course I've yet to play SW4 or WO3, WO3 I have low hopes for as WO1 and 2 never did, but SW4 hopefully captures me as much :ph43r:

I've just played so much of this game already  Been going back through Legend Mode after clearing it getting the bonus Skulltulas added after clearing it, and getting the heart containers I missed :asia:
and doing bits of Adventure Mode as well :ph43r:

Although I have seen a fair amount of that Omega Force lag  Probably the worst I've seen of it, but I never knew it was a consistent thing, wasn't particularly common and normally not too much of it on the older games outside of multiplayer, would just not draw enemies instead  (invisible officers was just a pain as they could still hit you :asia: )

I do have some issues with the gameplay, the regular enemies being too easy while the, let's say sub bosses rather than officers due to how you tend to approach them, can be tedious if on the weaker side, but it's unique enough for me regardless :ph43r:
And just been having a blast with the combat, although Hero mode seems leagues above most of my characters once I unlocked it, despite playing in Hard since stage 2 and throughout  Losing half HP to regular sub boss enemies in a single hit on my highest level, Link :asia: Might not be so bad now mind you, got quite a few heart containers since I did that right off clearing Legend Mode

The game has all the right ingredients for me to get into it as you have, and maybe that's another reason why I've not dived in completely yet :asia:

I don't want to ignore SW4 and WO3U (WO3U I still haven't played since getting SW4) :kurokan:

I'm slowly reaching burnout status with SW4 and I think once I platinum the game, I'll move on. There's so much left for me to do in both games though

Then I look at Hyrule and how level caps keep increasing with the patch updates :OMG:

I guess that makes sense
I definitely amn't that type of gamer though, as you're aware from me saying so in the past :asia:
I've only really 100%'d Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and Nier  Older DW and SW games I did to a point, but would never bother with the characters I disliked :P
(on which note, might give Agitha a pass in this :asia: )

Yeah, I don't think I'll be maxing out characters level of playing it through

A medal for getting one to 150 seems a bit extreme to me just looking, since my highest is about 50, and while I have Adventure mode and the finishing bits of Legend to do, the levels are also getting much slower
I will at least be getting all badges and the like I think though, which I guess is what I'm working towards currently to some degree

Same here, though skip the might. I'm not using her unless the game forces me to, and even then I'd consider taking a break or not bothering to continue at all :asia:

I'm hoping that I can adjust to playing more casually, but if I don't feel like I've got my money's worth by leaving games "incomplete" then it could be awhile before I'm playing Hyrule more regularly :asia:

Some of the level caps lately for KOEI games are ridiculous ... 150 for Hyrule (though I thought a patch update increased that again?) and WO3U has the Promotion system where you can reset and Promote your characters 9 times (reach level 100, then Promote x9 = 1,000 :kurokan: ) and there's no way I'm doing that for all characters in each of these games.

Same goes for proficiency in SW4. Reaching 20 in all 4 attack categories (Power, Normal, Hyper, and Special) is just ridiculous, especially if the character's moves suck in any one of those categories <_<

The grinding is starting to burn me out more than anything. It's not fun if all you're doing is the same thing over and over just to stat max
