It seems to require internet connection, at least when you start the game. I noticed when my PS4 is not connected to internet I can't get past the title screen.

I played some more today, I'm starting to get hang of the combat :asia: Or particularly the Ki system.

Did you play the tutorial, rival? :asia:

They added one in, and it's actually quite helpful.
Taught me some stuff I didn't figure out in the Alpha :asia:

That sucks, brother. :kurokan:
Although I could swear I've seen you online, did you have it set to auto-sign in?
Hopefully had nothing important attached to it
Might be imagining things of course. :asia:

I did the tutorial, but couldn't figure out the Ki purification deal. I managed to complete it, but have no idea what I did in order to accomplish that

That being said, I have progressed further than I did the last time, been taking out Yokai left and right with my trusty Spear :honda:

I'll try and explain it to you, as it's quite useful :asia:

Basically, when you do a number of attacks it uses your Ki up, right? After you stop swinging, the bar slowly builds up a bit glowing blue (I think it's blue anyway?)

When that blue bar hits the top of the bar which is recoverable (some will be gone from the total regardless) then you hit R1, and you'll get a perfect Ki pulse. This will let you recover Ki faster than any alternative, and also purify Yokai zones.

Hit R1 at any point during the blue bars rising and it'll be a regular Ki pulse, and if you leave it too late, the Ki bar will jump back down to the bottom of where the blue bar started from, and have to gain all the Ki back from there, where it'd instantly start wherever the blue bar was when you Ki pulsed otherwise.

Thanks for the explanation, Rival :asia:

We could, in theory :P
I was testing out the Online feature yesterday, both random co-op and actually matching up with someone in a lobby of sorts. Pretty interesting how it does it :asia:

It working again for you yet?
And if so, beat Muneshige or get Tonbo-kiri yet? :ph43r:

It did work. Still didnt get Tonbo-giri neither beat Munishege but I guess im at that place.

The online is looks a lot like Dark Souls. Actually the whole game is like Dks but in a Samurai way with different combat.

Nah, there's actually two types of Online. One is very like Dark Souls, but the other is very different. You can match up with someone before starting a stage if you want, can be a specific person you want to play with. You can even revive each other if you die in that mode (a few times), but you can't use any of the shrines, so can't checkpoint through the level.

An interesting twist to me, as someone who's played a lot of the Souls games :P
I know some people have wanted a mode where you can clear stages actually together in the Souls games, not just summoning a phantom, so having to do every area twice when playing through the game together. In Nioh, if you can manage with a limited number of revives and no shrine checkpoints then you can play entire levels progressing the story together, both players count as the 'host' when doing it that way.

I only tried the summon online so far. It looks a lot lile Souls.
Haven't try the other ones yet.

But over all, the game is like Souls but different combat and faster gameplay. Including more stuffs.

I never thought other companies would make games lile Souls tho :P

I hope there will be more characters tho such as Nobumaga and other ones.

It's set in 1600, Nobunaga was long dead by then :asia:

Unless he became a Yokai after death he won't be here

Did you get Tonbo-giri from random enemies or you found it in a specific place? :asia:

Both technically, I got it first as the reward for the Twilight version of the first side mission. Of fields and Yokai or something like that.

Unlock Twilight mode levels after the one you said you were fighting before too. All aside the Muneshige duel have Twilight versions that are harder :ph43r:

I see. So unlocking it is not just like a random spear. Is it powerful tho?
And i'm curious about how it looks like? Epic design or normal? :P

I did get it off a random Revenant before too though. I guess he'd gotten it from the mission too, but is an option.

It looks similar to how the "Dragonfly Cutter" looked that the Spear CAWs got in SW1 to me.

I wonder if that's based on the historical one or something. I like it personally. Definitely is my strongest spear. I did soul match it at the blacksmith to level it up though.
