That's true, it is hard for me to describe since half the time I'm not really sure what's going on or how the game works I'd describe it as the best way for someone like me with no prior FE experience to get introduced to the FE series. Since its free, there's no investment of money required to start, its easy enough to pick up and start playing (even if you don't know what you're doing) and its actually kind of fun I'm not exactly sure what genre of games it falls under, but its standard FE gameplay from what I've read on here about it

What do you even do in battles in it?

Each battlefield is laid out in grids, you move each character a limited number of spaces around to put them in position to attack or to keep them away from being attacked. Sometimes, the battlefield has obstacles that you can destroy to advance (costing a turn for the character who you use to do this), or others you have navigate around. Its turn-based, so you make your move (one for each character in your team, unless you choose to end turn early), then the CPU makes their move(s). When you want to attack, you move your character towards the other and they then fight it out based on stats, affinity, skills, etc. You build your team around this affinity system so that you're balanced enough to fight whatever enemy cluster you face. Leveling is a pain unless you are fighting and beating higher level enemies, otherwise you gain hardly nothing for lower level opponents (if anything at all). I've only scratched the surface though of what's in this game, there's an entire section devoted to leveling, skill growth, unlocking potential (whatever that is), etc. |

Sounds like a Fire Emblem game alright ![]() Well aside from the Affinity thing, they do have elements of that, but not sure how it plays out is quite the same, perhaps as a result of the stricter roster that's usable per battle (is it like 4?) Makes me kind of jealous since I don't have a way to play it honestly, seems like it could be fun ![]() That being said, none of the characters from the 3 FE games I've played are even in the game, so that'd be a bit of a let down too

Yea, the teams are limited to (4) characters at a time, but you can assemble up to 200 allies for your team? Not sure how/why, but that's what the game says I'm not too sure how the affinity thing plays out, honestly There's some kind of color-coding affinity chart on screen all the time (Green < Red < Blue < Green ) but then there's also archers and shuriken enemies that don't have a color associated with them and are therefore immune to the affinity system? And when they attack you, I don't think you can attack them back if the CPU initiates the battle IDK, its surprisingly fun though because I normally don't go for turn-based combat/games. Shame you might not end up playing this one

I haven't played a Fire Emblem game in ages anyway, never owned a 3DS either ![]() When I got my Wii U I was sure that at some point Nintendo would decide to throw a port if not a full release onto that, but they've been exclusively handheld since Radiant Dawn on the Wii ![]() Well and this mobile one I can't play either ![]() Also if like normal FE, you sure the archers aren't just attacking from out of range of people who could counterattack? |

For Honour has an Open Beta 9th til 12th of Feb, should try it out and see what you think actually playing it ![]() Somehow the Nioh thing doesn't surrpise me, the combat in Dark Souls is not for everyone, but while Nioh is hard, it's much flashier and combo focused, more like Ninja Gaiden or DMC or something, so more people probably like that

i seriously hope the entire game won't be hyper armor the game, like that fight with muneshige, on the other hand you can do ridiculous **** **** like double knockdowns with certain skills, i defeated him with a grapple - leg sweep - roflstomp loop with the odd chain pull(man that move is unsafe though) - leg sweep - roflstomp thrown in the mix, the kusarigama is lit af |

Unfortunately I've only really played DMC4 ![]() Have played a bit of 3 as well, and I think overall I prefer what I've seen of 3 because I wasn't a fan of Nero as a character (even if his gameplay was fun), but obviously 4 is my favourite as only one I properly played
