I've not gotten round to Attila since I bought it yet, only played it when it was free one weekend then got it later in a Humble Bundle
Should do some time, but not really that interested :asia:

I'm miles off in Rome II as well, that game is huge :kurokan:

Took Britain, the majority of Germany, bits of France and all of Italy as well as a few areas around them, and still nowhere near done...

Got this screenshot from before my invasion of Italy actually to give an idea :asia:
Yet still not even half way to any victory if I remember right
Think I have more of Spain too actually where I last played.

I've done the Parthia campaign and half of the Rome Julii one. Can't say if it was Julii though... But it was close

I've seen that screenshot :P

Julii were my guys in Rome 1

Rome 2's Romans are much less interesting to me, being 1 unified faction...

Same

Yeah not a big fan of that at all. Gotta have SPQR so you can capture Rome in the name of your family!

And I dislike the new wedding and adopting system, it's quite random really  Once in a few turns you open the menu and adopt/promote generals to have better control, nothing more than that

Yeah, plus you can't earn promotions into adoption for your random captains any more. I mean they don't even exist, but I really liked that feature

I never got to get a Parthian general reach the Hazara-Patish rank :(

The soundtrack sucks, so I installed a mod which replaces them with the old Rome Total War ones. :P

Yeah, I wouldn't say it sucks, but it's no where near as good as the original game :ph43r:

The game is also way easier compared to RTW  Even on Legendary, battles can get ridiculous :XD They can be a lot faster too

Also, I dislike how the victory/defeat types works in this game. And also in Shogun 2. Both sides deploy 3000 men, I kill 2000 and lose 500 and it says "Close Victory". Just what? :XD How was that close?

Heroic victories can be quite random, I did many battles saying to myself that this is definitely gonna be a heroic and yet I get another Close one.

Rome Total War was quite better at that I think

Yeah, I definitely agree with the Victories there. Both close and heroic seem quite random

A shame too, because I always liked Heroic ones being marked on the map. Although I think they get marked there if a ton of people die now anyway.

Just imagining the "HEROIC VICTORY" text with the epic victory music in RTW..

Is it me or is Steam down atm
Pure epicness:

Yeah, it seems to be down

And YES, that music is so iconic to Total War

Although Shogun 1 is still where I go to first for Total War music, I love that the Shogun 2 loading screens use the music from the first one

Rome demands victory from her generals! And this day is clearly OUR victory!

The day is ours!
That's another thing Rome 2 lacks, the speeches at the start :asia:

Shogun 2 had them, but they felt a lot more plain compared to Rome 1s, less variants of them.

It has them but they suck. The general says them when you start the battle but I'd move away from him, those words have no value at all :XD

People have been buying old PCs just to play RTW and Medieval 2 as smooth as possible

I get 20 fps if I'm lucky, so

What fps do you get on your laptop? :ph43r:

I couldn't tell you, it's not entirely stable because it's an old laptop (8 or 9 years now actually....), but it's normally fine in battle at least. Funny that it has more issue on the map actually
Although it's settings are quite low, because what do you expect from a 9 year old laptop?

From what I've seen, the older the system = the better RTW runs
