Certainly worth a try, although these games typically try and ruin all your plans by accident

Indeed they do. I got past Chi Bi event, let it play a little bit more, and saved. Andthen immediately got Shu steals Cao Ren castle event.

What's more, I'm not sure if Zhou Yu is about to die or not...
I think I'm just gonna cheat and rearrange all of the castles. Might just destroy Shu and absorb their forces into my own, also.

That's the thing I don't like about ROTK13, though. The events happen on their own, without you even needing to mobilize your armies.

Because of this, I wasn't able to take advantage of his defeat in the way Wu actually tried to. My armies haven't entered Jing this entire time, and the game just keeps giving Liu Bei castles. Annoying as hell.

@Sanada: In the mood of a Rome II / Shogun 2 multiplayer campaign? :asia: No need to worry about the turn time, I'm slow myself

I don't like how you need to have the exact same mods in Rome II when you're going to play with someone else, it's different in Shogun 2.

I mean, I briefly mentioned earlier I'm away on holiday, I can't play those on my laptop anyway :P

That being said, my brother brought up playing a Total War: Warhammer campaign, and I'm unlikely to do multiple :asia:
Only played 1 faction in that game too, so more interested in playing another :ph43r:

I have wanted to do a Western based co-op campaign in Shogun 2 though, maybe some time we can :asia:

Started one as the Mori and Chosokabe with a friend of mine, but when his Daimyo was killed by stray arrow fire right at the start of his first battle, given he was hesitant about playing a Total War game to begin with, it ended right there and then more or less

Warhammer is great though, hard to not be a fan to some capacity growing up in Britain, at least when not the sporty sort anyway :P
And Total War Warhammer has done itself well. Much more interesting than Rome 2 to me, although I do prefer Shogun 2, but Warhammer does some interesting stuff.
Plus me boyz in da WAAAGH! are da bestest.

Stray arrow can kill a Daimyo?
Yea, that'd stop me from playing then and there.

Actually, now that I think of it, I had that problem in ROTK, also. Important generals dying in battle. At one point during Cao Cao's conquest, Liu Biao decided to take advantage of our getting constantly pounded and took Liujang from me, taking most of my closest friends hostages, and eventually executing Xiao Qiao and Lu Su.

Another playthrough, Sima Yi died during a skirmish at He Fei in 205.

The one I started yesterday, I made sure to cut off officer deaths. But now that I think about it, I feel there was a "no officers die of old age" language in there, instead of them dying in battle.

Hmm, if the settings are similar to SoI or Ascension then it should be that Officer Deaths is battle specific, then it had a Lifespan option independent of it, Normal, Longevity and Forever. Terms may vary, but it is a different game, albeit on the same engine.

As for the Total War thing, well in personal combat it's quite easy to avoid your daimyo even being shot at, especially since it was a siege battle. He had like 20-30 mounted troops in his unit out of the maybe 500 people battling a side.
A Daimyo and his bodyguards are really strong, and they are able to dismount as well, but personally I'd never have them approach the walls until your infantry have breached it, which was his mistake.

Although, he'd have to have been hit by a lot of arrows, they have quite a lot of HP. I was spectating his battle and genuinely never expected his Daimyo would die, I think he lost 1 bodyguard prior, while quite often mine don't die until the unit is down to like 5 or less. Not even uncommon to see the Daimyo be the last man standing in his unit. He just got incredibly unlucky.

R.I.P.

I really like Rome II, but I'd still prefer Rome: Total War if it was playable. :asia:

Also reinstalling Attila. I've uninstalled it for a couple of times now. Last time installing it I was like "Perhaps I've been unfair to this game." and a few days later I uninstalled it and said "Nah, not worth the disk space, it's just like Rome II anyway, only harder."

Now I feel like I've been unfair to the game
