"We shall persevere! We shall never give into the likes of the Imperial scum!" This battle cry was heard throughout the village. It was foolhardy to say this in the first place, as the village was already being overcome by the Imperial Empire. Imperial Guards who heard this immediately went to find the rebel, then bring them to the Imperial Castle. Moments after hearing this rebellious cry, a young man was found, beaten, and then hauled back to the castle by a tall, male general, and a young, elegant, female captain. He was brought back to the castle, where the female captain was interrogating the man. "Where is your commander?" "Where is the rebel hideout?" "Where are your comrades hiding?" The rebel was too loyal to his kind. He refused to answer her questions, and instead, he barked insults at her. The captain that was asking him questions ripped out her scimitar that she wore at her side, and sliced the poor man's head off. The general was in the room at that time. He made a disgusted face, and walked out. To his allies, he is a fellow guard. He outranked most men, with the rank of General. But, he is an ally of the rebel. He was a fake soldier. He was a spy for the rebels. The disgusted general walked out of the interrogation room. He sighed, then started walking. The general walked straight for a while, stopping before a door that posted a sign, saying: "19-5-1-14's Room." 19-5-1-14. That was him. A form of code, and it was rather lame. Each number represented a letter in the English alphabet. The first letter would be 1, and the last letter would be 26. The general's name was Sean. Sean placed his ear close to the door. He heard some unintelligible sounds, but he recognized the noise as some of his friends talking. He opened the door, and saw three men talking with glee. "At this time of chaos, where innocents are losing their lives for nothing, how can you just sit there and chat as if nothing was happening? We lost another one today, because some fool in the village shouted the code." One of them immediately stood up, and he went by the name of Irvin. He was a tall person, wearing glasses and an assault rifle on his back, and Irvin was given the rank of Assault Sergeant. "Again? Geez. People don't seem to learn these days." Sean closed his eyes and shook his eyes. "If this keeps going on, soon enough, they'll find the village elder and the commander. How many guys do we have left?" Irvin thought for a moment, and replied: "We started out with 14 rebels here in the army. There are well over 50 rebels in the village, and from the start till now, we've lost over 30 of 'em. In the army, we're the only four left." "We can't just hide here with such a low profile. They'll find out who we are sooner or later, and when that time comes, we're screwed." Sean and Irvin faced the speaker. His name was Devin. He wasn't tall, nor was he short. He had short, blonde hair, and he always had a sniper rifle wherever he went. Devin was a Sniping Sergeant. "Devin, next time, do not say that so loudly. Anyone could've heard that." "Don't be so negative. Sean's a General in the army. Everyone answers to him." Irvin was sure that Sean could protect them. "Irvin, you missed someone." Sean said. "Who?" "Who else?" "Stop being so vague! Tell me!" "Do you mean...her?" Sean turned his head to one more person. His name was Derek. He was slightly short, but nonetheless very quick. He was an Imperial Wraith. In other words, Derek was a spy. "Oh, her! That female...sergeant?" "She rose in rank a few days ago. Now she's a Captain. She executed the rebel found today." Sean looked down as he said those words. He then muttered: "How can anyone be so cruel?" Derek got up and put his hand on Sean's shoulder. "Sean. Do you mean...Lauren? That girl that has that sword?" Sean nodded. "Everyone in the camp is afraid of her. Even I am." "But Sean, you...you outrank her!" Devin said this with a small tone of surprise. Sean turned around and faced the door. He closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. "So? Lauren is brutal. That scimitar would be better off with me." "Yeah. You and your swords, Sean! Geez!" Devin laughed. Sean disliked firearms. He wore a long Japanese sword by his side. He looked to his side, and tapped his sword. It made a clanking noise. "But, then again, I took this sword over that blade of hers. I deserved this, for my hard work." At that moment, Sean, Derek, Devin, and Irvin heard loud footsteps coming. Sean quickly moved to the back of the small room, ready to see who it was. Just then, the footsteps stopped. Then it started again, but it seemed that the noise was walking in the other direction. "What the heck? Guys, I'll be right back." Sean volunteered to see what was outside. "I heard you talking just now. Are you guys really rebels?" The moment Sean walked out of his room, Sean heard these bone-chilling words. He turned and faced the one who asked such a question. It was none other than the person Sean had feared most: Lauren. "Well?" "...Where in the world did you get that? Making up fibs to try and raise your rank, are we? Tsk tsk." Sean shook his head at Lauren. Lauren, of course, was persistent. "Don't even lie, Sean--" "That's General Sean to you, missy." "Fine. Don't even think about lying, General." "Who's lying? If anyone's lying around here, it's none other than--" "You. General, you are a rebel. Be glad that I can't tell anyone, because no one would believe me." After hearing this, Sean smiled. "What's wrong? Have you gone mad because you executed so many rebels?" "I still have the strength to execute four more: You, those two sergeants, and that Imperial Wraith." "Don't you have work to do?" "No." "Then I'll give you work to do. Go to the entrance and stay there." "...Why, I should--" "Move it!" Lauren was enraged and stomped off. Sean watched her go and then grinned. However, Lauren suddenly turned around and said something that would nearly frighten Sean out of his senses. "Don't forget, Sean. The commander of this camp isn't you, but it's the queen, and I am the queen's niece." Sean was walking back to the room when he heard this, and thus he almost tripped on his own feet. He walked back to the room, where they immediately sensed fear in Sean's voice. "We've...gotta...get out of here." "Sean, what's the hurry?" Irvin asked. "If Lauren reports back to the queen, we're finished. We have to go back to the hideout." Sean, Derek, Irvin, and Devin rushed back to the village. As they neared the entrance, they heard the battle cry again. "We shall persevere! We shall never give into the likes of the Imperial scum!" Soldier after soldier were running in the direction of the yell. Sean could do naught but put his hands on his forehead. "Oh no...Not again!" Just then, an Imperial soldier appeared in front of Sean, bleeding from head to toe. "General...We've found...the rebel hideout...Argh..." The soldier collapsed to the ground after notifying Sean with their latest discovery. Then another soldier came, but Sean recognized him as another rebel. "General! The village elder has been surrounded, and he's threatening to kill himself!" "Devin! Irvin! Get back to the hideout and protect the commander! Derek! Go back to the camp and tell them to pack up and go back to the Empire!" Before Sean finished giving out the orders, they noted a gigantic ball of flame reach the very heavens. The rebel hideout was in flames. "What the hell is that?!" "It's my present to you...Sean. Don't you like it?" Sean whirled around and saw Lauren pointing her scimitar at Sean's face. Lauren was leading over two thousand troops, easily. Sean could not fight off all of them. "...Did you tell the queen?" "Of course I did. Those troops behind me are the queen's present, and they will listen to me. As soon as I give a signal, they will fire." Lauren suddenly lunged forward and tried to slice Sean's head off. Sean backed away a little and received a small scratch on his face. "Oh, so you want to play with some swords, huh?" Sean ripped out his sword, but a stray bullet hit the handle of Sean's blade, and it ended up spinning out of Sean's grip. It landed behind him and the blade was stuck to the ground. Sean turned around and watched it land. When he turned around, he felt an immense pain in his stomach. When Sean had turned around, Lauren stabbed him, and then she quickly took out her scimitar and kicked him right where she had stabbed him. Sean dropped to his knees, and at the same time, he was clutching his stomach. Soon enough, he couldn't handle the pain, and thus he lay down. Sean was lying in a puddle of blood, but he was still alive. He slowly got up, but when he did, he saw several things that shocked him. 1. Sean noticed several Imperial soldiers holding someone. It was the rebel commander, and he was dead. His arms were sliced off, and so were his legs. His eyes were missing, his nose was bleeding, and his neck was sliced open. The soldiers threw him to the ground and beheaded him. They then fired on his head, and then they lit his head on fire. 2. Devin and Irvin were held hostage by some other soldiers. A soldier took Devin's sniper rifle and held it at the base of Devin's spinal cord. Irvin's assault rifle was held by another soldier at his head. After some yelling, the soldiers opened fire, and both of Sean's friends were killed. 3. He saw Derek's head on a stick. A soldier came by and lit the head on fire. Sean could only watch as the head started to melt, and some skin started to fall. 4. The village elder was standing up straight, but his hands and feet were bound to the ground. An Imperial soldier was holding a grenade. He gave the elder a punch to the stomach, and then he ripped out the pin and stuck the grenade in the village elder's mouth. He taped the mouth shut, and then ran for his life. The village elder exploded into small, bloody bits. All of the things he had seen just now were very grotesque. Sean could not believe what he had just seen. The first thing he knew to do was to start running. And that, he did. Sean turned around and started to run for his life. A soldier ran a little and yelled out several words. "Traitor! You cannot escape us!" "Don't pursue. I'll flush him out myself." The soldier looked at the female captain. Lauren took her sword and headed into the burning village. The Imperial Army had stormed the village and killed every single person. There were only about sixty villagers, and among them were about ten rebels. Sean was speechless after he saw street after street filled with dead, burning bodies. Inside him, a furious ember burned, eager for revenge...but what could he do? Sean ran across the street, but when he reached the end, he had to duck to avoid a blade that was jutting out of the wall. "Darn it! I almost had you!" Lauren had appeared behind the wall, and she chased Sean through several intersections. Sean was running mindlessly, not paying attention to where he was going. He slammed right into a dead end, and when he had realized that he was trapped, it was way too late. Sean tried to run backwards, but Lauren was very close to him. Lauren had completely cornered Sean at the dead end. "Trapped like a rat, huh? Don't worry." Lauren looked at her sword, and then threw it behind her. "I won't end your life so quickly. I think I'll have some fun with you...General." Sean didn't move. Lauren was slowly advancing at him. Sean charged at Lauren, but to no avail. Lauren only watched him run towards her before she gave Sean a strong knee kick to his face. Sean spit out some blood, but before he could recover form the shock, Lauren picked him up and threw him at the wall. Sean didn't move. He was on the verge of dying. His face was almost covered in blood. Lauren slowly walked towards him, and when she approached the body on the ground, she grabbed his hair and lifted his head so that Sean was facing her. "Before I kill you, Sean...Do you have any last words?" Sean made no answer. After a while, Lauren cracked her knuckles before landing one final punch to Sean's face. He face-planted into the ground, and his life had ended. "Good night, Sean. I hope in your next life, you'll learn to be a little smarter." Lauren was beginning the trek back to the front of the village. She had not walked very far when the flames had caught up with the dead end. The walls broke, and brick after brick fell on the rebellious general's body. She looked back to see Sean's body get crushed, and then she started walking again. EDIT 10-17-05: Revised, edited. EDIT 10-30-05: Tried to think of more gruesome death scenes, but ended up doing some more revising. |

Just something I had thought of. The characters used in this story are some friends of mine...Save the "female captain", of course. But I do indeed "fear" her. Don't ask why; I won't answer. |

Yeah. And in my stories, there's quite a lot of violence. And I usually include people I know. See? You died in the story. Don't you feel great? Now, I have nothing against you. I just chose three random people among my friends and they died. Hey, if it makes you feel any better...I died, too. |
