I am very curious to know who you guys favourite kingdom in the DW game. Whenever DW4 came out, everyone was totally crazy about Wu. Now, I see more people liking the other kingdoms as well. I have always liked Wei. For one thing, I like the ruler, Cao Cao the most. There is nothing special about Sun Quan and even though Lei Bei was a very virtuous man, it kinda didn't matter because his army was too tiny to ever accomplish anything. I also think that Sima Yi is cool. His arrogance simply entertains me. I like Zhuge Liange, but I don't like how he lied in the past. For example, lieing about cao cao to get zhou yu angry and start the war of chi bi. Also, he was very taunting as well. For instance, the battle of Wu Zhang Plains. There are some people in Wu that I like, but wei is still my number 1. |

Without a doubt Wei. I was attached to them (especially Cao Cao) from the moment I got interested in the series with DW3. I'm even the same Zodiac sign as Cao Cao, Pang Tong, Zhang He and Sima Yi! Each of them are one of my favorite characters (not because of them in DW, just in general). And the first ever story mode I ever completed was with Zhang He! But anyway, I love Wei because of their simply brilliant warriors and minds. Zhang Liao, Jia Xu, Cao Cao are just a few of the names that were very talented. Even the rulers, Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Cao Rui and prehaps not Cao Huan, were better than their enemies. Cao Cao hands down beat Sun Quan, Liu Bei and every other ruler. Honestly, the amount of talent that came from their kingdom was amazing. Their creation had the best story as well, surrounded by enemies, Cao Cao conquered his empire, he didn't steal it, nor did he inherit it. |

True,Cao Cao made his own,he didnt steal it or get it via blood relation. I'll go with Wei.Why?. 1.They arent overrated. 2.They have a great leader. 3.They have great warriors, generals, strategists. 4.They would had conquer the land if not for chibi. 5.They didnt hide behind false virtue. 6.They,with a new name and ruling family, united the land. 7.They became the rightful dynasty, after the Han abdicated to their favor. |

I agree with you guys. Wei is not overated and doesn't hide behind false virtue. I had always felt that way. However, a long time ago, I saw a poll that asked what was your fav kingdom, and first it was wu and then it was shu (wei was last!). I really never understood why. I had always felt that wei had better warriors and a leader, but yet people didn't favour them.

The Dynasty Warriors game do underestimate their power, especially when you fight in battles such as Wu Zhang plains, Tian Shui etc. Their army was huge there, but yet it is about equal in the game with Shu's. Even at Chi Bi, if you play as Wei, although your commander's unit has loads of troops, Wu has more collectivly! |

Yeah Wei was THE kingdom/dynasty. They had bigger forces mainly because the main part of Wei was the central plains and north.Which was were the population usualy lived.Plus the good foundation that they had.Which eventualy led to Jin(post Wei :P) to destroy the political unstable Wu. Most people dont like Wei/Cao Cao because of the novel and DW games.Example: Cao Cao = Die!,Ambition,My empire Sima Yi= Evil guy Liu Bei= Ah my people, virtue!,the "Han", Guan Yu=I am the man Zhang Fei = *drinks* *falls down* When in reality Guan Yu was nothing,Zhang Fei was better than Guan Yu,Zhuge Liang wasnt a god,Shu wasnt the rightful kingdom. In a way noone was.But look at things. Wei: Cao was the Han Prime Minister, had titles(Prince of Wei,etc). Had served the Han since the early days. Tried to save the Han from Dong Zhuo. Cao Cao was a Han man. Shu: Sandal seller turn "Uncle of the Emperor" Preacher of virtue(Luo Guanzhong's ROTK,and KOEI's DW) "Evil" things that he did were put on other people(beating up the minister) The novel is Shu-biased. His blood relation with the Liu's helped alot. |

Shu. I sound biased, but I can name one thing great about each warrior in Shu. And, The Swordsman, we're going strictly by the characters' performances in the game, not by novel/history. At least, I am. Zhao Yun: The hero, and the original classic spear user. Guan Yu: Combines power and reach. Zhang Fei: Slow, but he's great at wrecking armies. Liu Bei: All lords are great, but I like Yuan Shao and Liu Bei the most. Zhuge Liang: woot. Mr. Laser! Small reach, but that's where his C1, C3, C4, C6, and Musou come in. By the way, I'm talking about DW5. Pang Tong: He has the coolest air charge in the game, hands down. It does little damage, and it's hard to hit others with it, but that's okay. Pang Tong rocks. That's the start of the list. But, if there was an "All" option, I would've picked that. Well...maybe all except Wu... |

That simply shows that even a peasant who sells shoes can have an imperial title.
Because Koei bases DW off of LGZ's book.
Explain.
Because Chen Shou was the guy that compiled everything, and his father was in Shu. And LGZ based the events in the novel off of Chen Shou's list, and when LGZ realized that the book wasn't long enough, he added somethings.
You never know. |

Okay. This is what the topic is about. Please do not use historical examples to back up your judgment! This question is based solely on your opinion of the warriors in the Dynasty Warriors series itself. Please back up your opinion with examples from the series. For example. The_Swordsman, you are supporting and backing up your own personal opinion with examples from history. I commend you for doing that. Good job. However! This was placed in the Dynasty Warriors section of the forum, and therefore, we will use examples from Dynasty Warriors! Nowhere else! Understand?! |

I can't believe you people, okay I understand and respect that Cao Cao was a great leader, he left behind a very corrupt society. Cao Pi was an a$$hole by not respecting how far his father went to get him there, Sima Yi for backstabbing the empire and seizing control and most of the generals Wei have were either bandits or with corrupt empires. Zhang Liao being a good example. Well, Shu were an excellent empire to start with, but in Yi Ling when Guan Yu was killed, he lost sense of virtue. And what Liu Chan did was very cowardly and unforgivable. As For the Sun Family (up until Sun Quan), the fought hard with their kingdom to the end. |
