ok we all know Zhang He defected to Cao Cao because of Guo Tuo's accusatiosn right? right ( I think he was a good warrior.. he tied Zhang Liao is a dual at Guan Du. He and Gao Lan( i think that was his name both defected to Cao Cao. however, he was a narcist( not gay) and guess what? he had a biological son named Zhang Xiong who just like his father participated in battles against mainly Shu.. |

He isolated Ma Su at Jie Ting. He defected to Cao Cao at Guan Du. He was ambushed by Zhang Fei. Those are the things I know about Zhang He, at the top of my head. And I believe that Zhang He was one of the Wei's Tiger Generals. |

indeed he was.. oh and another thing that is known about him is he shot an arrow through a bullseye while riding a horse backwards.. the only accomplishment that really made him famous was when he isolated and defeated Ma Su at Jie Ting.. |

...Zhang He really wasn't a narcissist in history. Zhang He was an excellent general. Able to hold his own in duels against a lot of generals, and a good tactician. Even Kongming feared Zhang He's abilities. And I believe Zhang He also did a lot during the campaign against the Yuan brats, but you'll have to read his bio at Kongming.net for that to be sure. |

He was a bit like Zhang Liao, but on the front line and fighting alot more. Zhang Liao was on the front, but didn't do much fighting after Chi Bi except for He Fei. I don't think Zhang He was that good a tactition, at Jei Ting, it was common sense more or less how he defeated Ma Su. Also Ma Su's insurbordinaton only helped. He was a good general, and a good warrior, but he was a better team fighter. He and Gao Lan were an excellant team. While Zhang He was fighting Zhang Liao, Xu Zhu rushed out to Liao's aid, therefore Gao Lan rode out to He's. He fought to a stand off with Xu Zhu, and the bpth of them had shown the strength of Yuan Shao's army. |

At Ru Nan, Liu Bei was surrounded by his men. Liu Pi attempted to save Liu Bei, but was killed by Gao Lan. Gao was then run through by Zhao Yun. |

A shame really, since he started a promising career under Cao Cao. |

I rather like the DW Zhang He. It sure adds style and flair to the game, and his fighting style rocks. Though I miss his maniacal laughter in DW3. |

What about when he lights the gate on fire at Jie Ting, Shu side? That's pretty maniacal. Or his True Musou attack? "Beauty, COME TO ME!" |

I agree. Zhang He was a really impressive in both reality and in DW. Smart and skilled. He had really helped Wei and I think he is cool. However, I liked him best in DW3. LOL |

...Back on topic. I recall that Zhang He died by Zhuge Liang, after getting smashed by logs and stones while fighting uphill. |

Wei Yan challenged Zhang He, they fought a few bouts, Wei Yan retreated, Zhang He followed, Wei Yan challenged, they fought a few bouts, Wei Yan retreated, Zhang He followed... Etcetera. Suddenly they are in a forest, archers appear from everywhere and Zhang He dies. |

On a side note: The novel states that Zhang He wanted to pursue but Sima Yi told him not to, yet Zhang He persisted and finally got his way, leading to his death. In history, Sima Yi ordered Zhang He to pursue, but Zhang He protested, guessing it was a trap. Sima Yi ignored it, and Zhang He was led to his death. |

I wonder how all this history was recorded and how accurate it was. Just cause it must be hard to keep up with everything going on. |

Another version of Zhang He's death was that he was hit by an arrow while fighting in Qi Shan and died. On an interesting note, I discovered that Zhang he was quite fond of music. Perhaps that had something to do with his..."image." |

It was the other way around.. the commander was one of Sima Yi's sons.. Zhang He argued to not pursue, but the commander made him... He was pursuing Wei Yan and he fell upon an ambush of archers... he was hit in the right knee and died.. that is why I hate the kingdom of Shu.. all their ploys were basically surprise ambushes.. which to me are cowardly tactics... |
