Ok...this has been brought up in way too many topics across forums everywhere. People have frequently suggested the idea of a European Koei game and it turns out that Koei has decided to make one. The setting of this hack-n-slasher will take place during the Hundred Years' War and probably appear on the Playstation III rather than Playstation II. Little more is known about it though. If you want to discuss this then please feel free to here. The other thread in the Ideas for Koei Games category should be used to talk about new thoughts for possible European-based Koei games (besides the 100 Years' War which is covered by Bladestorm). |

It is 100% confirmed that it will take place in Europe during the Hundred Years' War, fought between France and England and with other powers like Burgundy and Scotland playing an active role as well. The news can be found here. Although the article focuses on Koei's other F-Zero like game Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm and it's setting is noted towards the end. Besides where it's going to take place, little is known about Bladestorm, although it was divulged to be an action game so it could be a hack-n-slasher. There is a trailer on IGN but it basically gives you no idea about the game and doesn't show anything except the word bladestorm in cool font... |

But despite that game takes place during 100 Year War, I doubt Koei is actually going to add those 100 years... they probably add like first/last 30-50 years I suppose. This how, they would have more years left in future sequels... If someone is interested, here's some info of the 100 year war: http://www.ku.edu/kansas/medieval/108/lect..._years_war.html http://www.theotherside.co.uk/tm-heritage/...100yearswar.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_Years_War Oh, and if Koei is going to add a "main" or "poster" character into this game as well, my choice would be Jeanne d'Arc of course. After all, she is a national heroine and saint of France nowadays... Special Bonus character.... well Lancelot (aka Lu Bu of DW) for England of course :D. |

Aargh :(. Jeanne d'Arc is still Joan of Arc. Jeanne d'Arc is her name in French and I tend to use it because I prefer it much more than Joan of Arc . |

Juana del (or de la) Arca in spanish, similar oi. Lancelot?, isnt he a legend of the Dark Ages?, from like the 800's?. If the english have him, then France should get the great Charlemagne. |

Charlemagne is indeed>Lancelot. I believe Lancelot was supposedly a knight of King Arthur, who was a Celtish King, a.k.a. a king of the people known as the Celts who lived in England prior to the takeover of the German Saxons or French/Viking Normans. Charlemagne was a French king who had ties with people from all over Europe, even Muslim nations (one of which sent him an elephant). Whereas King Arthur's sword is called Excalibur, Charlemagne wielded a famous blade named Joyeuse (both of these weapons are commonly featured in RPGs like Final Fantasy). But neither of them are from the period and I don't think either would be good characters. I think that the Hundred Years' War was around the time of the Scottish William Wallace's attack on England. I could be way wrong however. If it was though, William Wallace would make for an interesting character. I think they should make the main nations be England and France with Burgundy being a thorn in the side of France and an ally of England and Scotland being a thorn in the side of England and being an ally of France (both Burgundian and Scottish characters could be playable/unlockable perhaps). If both the Black Prince and Joan of Arc were to make appearances then it would mean that the game would cover the full extent of the period or divide up the characters into "late" and "early" Hundred Years' War generals. Edit-I stand corrected. William Wallace came before the Hundred Years' War slightly... |

I do not think this is actually based on the 100 year war. This is supposed to have bits of Asian influence, in my thinking it my be Europe vs Asia I don't know its a guess. Thought's on this I hope to see something never seen on either DW, or SW yet something revolutionary.
There is info. |

Scottish, Geonese, Flemish and Burgundian characters should be added as allies, but with the majority of characters being French or English. I think The Black Prince should be the front cover character. Jeanne should be on there aswell... EDIT: If it is a Asia vs. Europe game, it'll probably suck, even if by only the remotest bit. EDIT 2: It isn't an Asia vs. Europe game. Yay! The trailer is awesome. Of the three or four seconds of ingame play, it loosk AWESOME. And it'll be the first game I play for the PS3. Which is released November 17... on both sides of the Atlantic! |

This game sounds really interesting, and it will be available for the ps3 launch! (good point for Koei). However, the PS3 is awfully expensive, I don't even want to know the price of the games

Whoo, I saw the trailer too. Finally Koei showed some footage of the game, even though it was in CG format. I'm pretty sure that the character who was shown there was Jean De'Arc, well that's what I'm hoping for. Now I would like to see rest of the characters and gameplay, to see what kind of game it really is. |

This looks pretty interesting. I've studied the Hundred Years War, but I hadn't read about any individual exploits (something that Koei games tend to focus on in these kind of games). ...is it bad that I only get really interested in this kind of stuff if there's a game about it? |

I forgot about Flanders. I don't even know who the Geonese are. But I definitely think that the Burgundians and the Scots should be in the game. The Scots actually won quite a few battles against the English and the Burgundians were important English allies; that kingdom was even responsible for capturing Jean D'Arc herself. |

Geonese helped the French lose at the start of the war. They're from Genoa. The first battle on sea (can't quite recall it's name) was fought between King Richard III's navy and a French/Geonese navy. |
