Hokkaido..?

You do realize there was next to no one ruling hokkaido, right? >_>

Alex said there was. :(

I have to go now but in the SB2 thread... Alex found one. :(

EDIT
Samurai Archives

MATSUMAE

The Matsumae were an offshoot of the Takeda and unified Hokkaido's Oshima Peninsula during the mid-16th Century. They later submitted to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and were confirmed in their holdings by Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Matsumae Yoshihiro
(Kakizaki Yoshihiro)
Ezo warlord
1550 - 1618

Matsumae Yoshihiro was the lord of the Sonogi area of Ezo Province (Hokkaido) and submitted to Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1590, bringing troops to the reduction of Kunoe Castle the following year. Until the time of Yoshihiro, the Matsumae were known as the 'Kakizaki' clan - this would change in 1606, when Yoshihiro visited Kyoto and Osaka. He became known as 'Matsumae' Yoshihiro while showing a map of Matsumae, the town in Ezo where his clan was originally from, to a group of the late Hideyoshi's chief retainers at Osaka Castle. Yoshihiro had reportedly many Ainu in his army, and these were well-known for their special poisoned arrows, although it is not known how effective these arrows were in battle, if employed at all.

The history of Hokkaido is very bleh. The early Ainu was the only exciting thing about it.

If September 2006 is the release date.... does this mean the US version of SW2 is going to be delayed again?

no and no!

Uh okay let me clear this up again..

three links were posted inregards to this?
Official site - http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/sengoku2e/
Game Watch - http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/2...704/sengoku.htm
IGN - http://ps2.ign.com/articles/716/716438p1.html

expected release date is written on the official site and Game Watch. It states... September 2006. That is all. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE US RELEASE DATE. THESE ARE 2 DIFFERENT GAME RELEASES.

More stuff: Release info. There will be 3 different 'packages': just the Empires game (4494 yen), Empires Treasure Box (7280 yen), Sengoku Musou 2 + Empires premium box (8400 yen).

That is all that the information released at the moment. The end. Anymore weird things about "ooh the US release is going to be pushed bacckk bahblahblah!!!" will end up with this thread being closed because i'm mean. What i've written here is basically a translation of the GameWatch page with exception to the "it's an Empires game! first of its kind in the Sengoku Musou series! ooh! War! Excitement! AH!"

Uh...who the hell will Koei use for the clans of the West. Besides the Shimazu of course...

Well the clan that was in Hokkaido was only installed in the south anyways. The Matsumae I mean. Still though I don't think it would be pointful to add that clan or the Hokkaido to the game except in an expansion like Empires.

I know they're going to make this.. a direct competitor to Sengoku BASARA... But still, if they make the Chousokabe & Mouri daimyo generics, I'd rather play SB2 anyday. :P

Oh, and I suppose the rumour that there will be no XL for SW2 is true... I had seen an interview with the director, where he was asked whether there will be the usual XL or not, and he said he didn't think so.

Of course you play SB2 differently than SB1. SB2 has STORY MODE not CONQUEST mode. It's a different league. That's why I can take it that 'Chousokabe and Mouri daimyos are generics' acceptable in SW2, but if they stay generic in Empires... That's a crime.

But I'll still play SW series any day. Not until Capcom removes their anti-Tokugawa bias and give more non-generic Tokugawa characters.

In case you haven't read the recent breaking news yet, SB2 will retain the Conquest mode.

here are the characters that should make they're grand debut before XL:

new characters:
William Adams
Jan Joosten van Lodensteijn
Luis Frois
Muneyoshi Yagyu
Munenori Yagyu
Akane Yagyu
Ohatsu
Ekei Ankokuji
Hideyasu Yuki
Yodo
Hidemitsu Samanosuke Akechi
Tenkai Nankobo
Kennyo Honganji
Katsuie Shibata
Kojiro Sasaki

returning:
Goemon Ishikawa
Yoshimoto Imagawa

Katsuie,Kojiro, and Kennyo should get unique weapons instead of a generic Spear or Sword movesets.

I think this is so wierd! NA hasn't even gotten SW2 and they are already planning on Empires. Actually now that I think of it, I guess they are starting now so they don't delay us again.

Anyway, I think adding more non-generic characters will add more confusion since there would be like a million different clans and a million different officers, it would be like DW series except more clans, more characters, and Japanese style. I don't think I can get every single character into my head. I like this game not only because it is fun to battle in war, but because every character is unique and has their own style and story, but if you keep adding all these characters then it will be so confusing to follow each and every story.

WOW! that was probably the longest i wrote in a reply.

How many regions do you guys expect to see? I don't know that much about the areas in Japan, but I hope to see more than 25 regions.

Well, I'm hoping to see at least unique NPC models for characters like Motochika Chosokabe, Motonari Mouri and Ujimasa Hojo. Otherwise it's going to be a battle between regular NPCs and few playable characters :(.

Well, there were approx. 60 provinces during Sengoku Jidai.. perhaps about 30 should do.

But as for the NPCs.. save Kennyo Honganji and Yoshimoto Imagawa, I fear all the other daimyo including Shikoku-Chugoku ones will just remain generic.. like what they did in DW:E games, keeping generic rulers like Zan Gongsun, Teng Ma, Zhang Liu and Biao Liu as generics after all....

.......
..man, why do I feel weird....

I know but my point is that none of them will be playable. It will be kind of stupid to have one side of Japan be all NPCs and the other be all playable factions fighting for dominance...

I was about to edit that one, but it was already too night and I had to share computer with my bro and sleep. No fair. >_>

Speaking of Otomo, this could be a chance to Koei to make use of Ginchiyo's role where she temporarily led the Otomo clan. That means there are 2 Western 'leaders' currently: Yoshihiro and Ginchiyo. But I still want Mori and Chosokabe.

There's also one thing that kept me liking Koei more than Capcom: The presence of Hikaru Midorikawa, who is still unused by Capcom despite his role as a Gundam Pilot, namely Heero Yuy. Why is that? Because he's my all time favorite seiyuu.

Finally back! Anyways, back to business!

I have a bad feeling about empires all of a sudden... It will either have few territories with few unique inhabitants, or too many territories with too many generics. :(

And uh, Ohatsu? She's a fictional Capcom character from Onimusha: DoD. Where's Mouri when you need him...

No. Hatsu-neesan was real. The second daughter of Ichi, she was married to Kyougoku Takatsugu, an Oda retainer.

And thanks to one of your quotes, Jin, you remind me of *something*... XD

[ura mode]
How about adding DW characters as secret characters for this game? Such as Bei Liu, Mengde Cao Cao, Jian Sun, Yun Zhao, Yu Guan, Fei Zhang, Zhong Huang, Chao Ma, Dun Xiahou, Yuan Xiahou, Liao Zhang, Huang Xu, He Zhang, Meng Lu, Ning Gan, Tong Ling, Gai Huang, Tai Zhou, Yue Ying Huang, Zhen, Shang Xiang Sun.... etc.

....but.. oh wait, that's for the PSP version. Putting these on the console versions won't do good. Sorry, my bad. please ignore this. :P
