Well then.I guess ill have to waste some time and kill people. And I will have to wait for 1000 kills before I kill the leading general. That would be a good way to do it.Just a a question...does the amount of kills for each place you conquer count together?

Actually by which DJ meant about the shield units, there are 25 people carrying shields guarding it, so just 5 squads, not 25. So no, the base isn't big.

Wow sounds cool! But heres what im wondering, what will the differences be between xbox 360 and ps2? Because i just got a 360 for christmas and wanted to know which version would be the best to get.

Well you also get 'Achievement Points' for each 360 game, so not only does it add replay value to every game, it also makes you feel like you're actually doing certain things for a reason. I'm presuming that the SW2E achievements are going to be near enough the same as the DW5E achievements though (complete 'historic level X', complete 'historic chapter X', obtain 10 through to 250 officers in Empires mode.. etc.)

Here's a full list of the DW5E XBOX360 achievements though..

Enjoy. (BlackKite, you might not want to look.)

Nah, I didn't even bother to zoom the screenshots.
Just as I expected, the Oda Nobunaga thing at the press release is no more than a typo.

But the screenshot taker is a bit inconsistent. Why Takuan Souhou instead of Souhou Takuan?

And finally... Quan Army - Sun Quan.... Here I come! GAHAHAHA
Yeah, I might be buying the US version just for that. Bei Army - Liu Bei or Liu Army - Bei Liu, anyone? B)

I don't see why anyone would expect otherwise. Koei wouldn't change that in an Empires or XL.

They might change the name style in a SW3, but who knows.

Wait a minute.... I'm sensing something weird...

EMPIRE MODE
FREE MODE
ARCHIVES
NEW OFFICER
OPTIONS

Hmm... and in the JP version, there's supposed to be Encyclopedia between New Officer and Options... does this mean.....

The Encyclopedia was called Archives in SWXL, was it not?

Archives is the mode in Empires where you can view character models, troop models, weapons, items, etc.

Encyclopedia is the mode for historical information.

I know. I just thought they put the Historical info in with the Archive since it was in XL.

I read the "Introduction" and it doesn't mention anything about Encyclopedia :(.

*Sigh* >_>.

well, two things disppointed me :
- the fist is that we cannot really make our character... we have to chose a bodyguard of SW2 and that's all... it really really disappointed me :(
- the second things is the end of the empire mode... there is just a short cut-scene, and then a succession of texts... that's not very important, but I liked the ends of DW5E...

and another thing : the encyclopedy seems to be complete, but I don't understand japanese -_- and I guess we (europe) will not have it in the PAL version ><

Im think that there is more modes but they just changed it and fit all the modes that can fit on one screen and the others appear as soon as you go up or down.

And I don't think we'll have it too...

Because I saw BlackKite on the GFaqs' board saying he hadn't seen the Encyclopedia where it was supposed to be on the screnn of the american version...

That's really disappointing, because this time, they really had time for translating it! (it's the same in SW2...)

That is a shame really!!!

I really don't know because I played previous DW and SW series in JP version. So they have everything completed and the voice actings are great! I didn't know they skip some part to make the game "incompleted" especially no encyclopedia >.< That's a shame really!!!

Well, thanks God because we have Sengoku Jidai Database - http://sengoku-database.tripod.com This may help you if you want to know some information!

Well, the Policy Phase (when the player is selecting the Policies) is only one player. BUT, when invading/defending a territory, the second player can press start and join in. However, they can only pick one of the Generals you chose to participate in the battle.

2-player in DW5 was okay. The usual hack n' slash but nothing over the top. So that's pretty much what you can expect from this.

I read from GameFAQs that there's new 'Double-jump' ability >_>. Are there other new abilities?

They replaced the rare skill that shows items on the map with the double-jump ability. It's the only new one.

Also, I got my hands on a copy of SM2E, and a couple little tidbits.

Ii Naomasa, unlike the rest of the Tokugawa officers, is wearing red. ^_^

Female CAWs get access to two more sets of specials if using sword/spear/naginata. The first gives Nene-style afterimages and also the -defense/+attack taunt to enemies, and the second is calling down lightning, and buffing allies with powerups.

The very first specials set, with support fire and the aura barrier, is a Special type moveset so plan accordingly if using it (you lose the last hit of the Spear's C2, etc.)

Also, you can only use the Pierce personal skill if using Magoichi or Ina's moveset. Bummer to all us Masamune moveset users. :(

Same goes for Vehemence and Nobunaga/Ginchiyo's sets.

Taking bases can really tough sometimes! If you've played DW4E, it's much more like that than DW5E. Though defeating the base captains will get you the base, there are many base captains running around the map reinforcing the bases all the time, so if you take too long more will just keep coming.

Allies are much, much more helpful now. Combined with proper formation use, they can defeat all the enemy officers before you can.

Also, the "Come here" command works differently now. Instead of them just coming nearby like in DW5E, you're literally assigning them as your guards. They will follow right behind you wherever you go, along with a squad of troops.

If you play as Tadakatsu or Okuni, the stage BGM sets to their theme automatically. Though if you use the SW1 music as default, Tadakatsu has Komaki-Nagakute as his theme song.

You can now see who is allied to who of everyone, not just yourself, when checking on "Allies" in the info menu.

You can coerce other clans to become reliant on you, like the Asakura-Azai alliance, or Oda-Hashiba-Shibata-Akechi deal. I haven't figured out all the benefits yet.

I'll post more later. :)

This can be extremely powerful. Maybe the game will become inbalanced because of this feature.
Just think about rushing through the maps with a horde of officers on your back.
