Awesome.I saw comedic dialogue between Ranmaru and Mitsunari,Magoichi(you know what he thought Ranmaru was),Sakon(giving him advice to get scars to seem more manly...lol),and thats hilarious.I recruited more than half of the original characters,I just need Yukimura to complete that alliance of Mitsunari,Kanetsugu, and Yukimura. Bad part is,they changed bad voices to worse.Look at Keiji's voice and be scared.Thats about it. Awesome game!!! |

The edit mode officer voices ARE TERRIBLE. They sound decent when you are sampling them in edit mode, BUT when your playing your officer in Empire mode, he sounds like hes speaking with a retainer in his mouth. Its quite disturbing. |

It's still going to take a while before SW2E is released in Europe... what a surprise >_>. Oh well, at least FFXII was released when supposed to so I can have fun with it and get Empires later. But are voices really that bad? |

They edit voices are so bad. The goofy voice is wierd as hell as well. Theres Brave, Strong, Wise, and Goofy. When your playing your character their voices sound like their talking with a retainer or something its wierd. Also you are limited to certain areas to start your new clan. There are no empty spaces like in DW5:Empires, you have to delete another ruler/lord and claim his area as your officers own except for the Divided lands scenario which is just an empty map. Also KOEI decided to make the names more Japan like and changed them altogether. Fuuma is now just Fuma with that line over it. Its wierd. Its like they tried to make it more historical and add cheap elements to it at the same time. The menus are really simple and the maps are more detailed which is bad. I don't know I still think DW5:Empires has alot of things better, Edit mode/menus/map/User interface. Also BEWARE, the Color of the tactic cards and there is this really annoying gray font that is used while playing. Its hard to read. Overall Its still a great buy for $30, I don't know about it for the UK, GS said its like $15 more. |

How do you unlock Ginchiyo? She's nowhere on the map despite her picture being part of the Unification of Kyushu title. She's my favorite character, and I was really anticipating conquering Japan with her. |

Note that the regional scenarios start in 1561, and Ginchiyo isn't supposed to be appearing on that year. Try getting the 1582 Honnouji or 1600 Sekigahara scenario, she should be available there.

Hmm, the CAW voices. Guys: Brave: Sounds OK, but every once in a while he says something in a really wierd tone like he's trying too hard to sound gruff. Some same lines as Passionate from DW5XL/E. Strong: Warcraft Orc crossed with Katsuie... with ugly results. Worst male voice. Some same lines as Heroic from DW5XL/E. Wise: Sorta Mitsuhide-ish without the Brit accent. Sometimes speaks too quietly. Some same lines as Calm from DW5XL/E. Goofy: Take Zhang He from DW and cross him with Yoshimoto. This voice is awesome. My favorite male CAW voice. Prissy nobleman indeed. XD Girls: Lively: Similar to Ina's voice. Very nicely done; she puts a lot of spirit into her battle yells. Some same lines as Spirited from DW5XL/E. My favorite of the female CAW voices. Calm: Calm voice, but has some odd lines. Nothing special, but not bad. Mature: This is a lot like Nouhime's English voice in SW1. It's decent enough. I think it has some of the same lines as Relaxed from DW5XL/E, but Relaxed sounded so horrid I never could bring myself to listen to it to find out. Young: Similar to the 1st female voice, only higher-pitched and more childish lines. Has some weak delivery. Some same lines as Innocent from DW5XL/E (but nowhere nearly as good as Innocent was :P) |

Did I mention that they have BARELY any movie cutscenes. In DW5:Empires they had alot, but Samurai Warriors 2 Empires has only 3-4. Its ridiculous. Heres alittle tip if you already have the game. If you get a Fief with a Horse post and shop, use The Find a Horse card for 400g and when you get a mount goto the shop and sell it for 1000-4000g. I made alot of gold just from selling horses. |

Hello once again. Here's my second review! This time I'll be brief and not go into so much detail like the ROTK11 one. Graphics- Same as SW2 nothing much different than that. Gameplay and Sound- See above. Features- Most of the game was like SW2, except the addition of CAW's. The CAW's were down right bad. Poor voices, not much selection on body types (compared to DW) and certain character weapons are not options (as far as I know) for the CAW. Though it did have some neat stuff like selecting your clan symbol and your musou and true musou symbols. Overall- I have to agree with several of the other posters in the SW2E topic, this game isn't what it's cracked up to be. They could have done a lot better. On a scale of 1 to 5. I give this game a 2.5 |

I agree completely. But you forgot to mention anything about taking over territories and such. And Koei makes DW & SW series. So there is absolutely no excuse to leave out features like that, especially since SW has fewer characters. Btw, this topic is perfectly fine. Post any reviews or comments here about SW2E. You dont need to use just the stickied topic now. |

Well, well, well, it seems all that studying japanese is paying off. It seems like they screwed this game even worse than SW2. I guess I'll pass on the US version. |

There are MANY movie scenes in SW2E taken from SW2. Just because you lack the ability to find them doesn't mean you can trash the game about it. |

Ok,I have played this game and beat Empires mode twice. If there is a question you want me to answer, just give it to me.I unlocked every single original character in the game.Plus I can provide tips on getting your 4th weapons.Give me a question, ill answer. And Potato Samurai's question about Ginchiyo: She will be unlockable by getting her from the randomly looking for her but the best location to find her is at the very left of the map, near the Kyushu territory. There should be several areas at the end.Take about the first 3 in front. Now look for a random officer in that area and she should appear. You get random officers by going to the decree menu and find that option where you find officer such as ronin. This will also apply to other areas such as Oshu, where you should get Masamune. Its the same thing. For some reason,I found Kojiro in Echizen. |

Just beat the whole game with every scenario(Yes on Easy mode). 14 hours it took me. Persian Mare is the best horse ingame, try to get it as soon as possible so you can use it for all the other scenarios. If you played Dynasty Warriors 5:Empires it will be alot easier for you to understand how the game works. One thing I dislike the most is how there are barely any movie scenes with characters and when there are they are really short and occur rarely. The ending is really weak, I feel like its a pre-Empires game to DW5:Empires. Theres alot more quality in graphics/gameplay in SW2:Empires, but its lacking the features/movies that DW5 had. Overall, I give it an 7.5 out of 10. Once KOEI starts adding more people/movesets to the roster for SW, things will start to improve. |

Do you think SW2: Empires is better than DW5: Empires? Anyone? |
