In DW5E, you can trigger the later scenario's special battles if you meet the requirements as you go through the years. i.e. Is it possible to fulfill the requirements for the Battle of Sekigahara if you start with Kawanakajima?

How DOES one get to level up their weapons so they can earn the 4th weapons?

Now that you've done Kawanakajima, do one of the Regional Scenarios. Complete it, but don't challenge the rest of Japan. Now, you should have every scenario unlocked, and ready to be played...

Must Have...Fourth Weapon
Keep using the 'Smith' policy for whatever type of weapon you're using. When it's at the maximum, you must win a battle, with the character you want the 4th level weapon with, but here's the catch: It must end with 500 Kills.

You won't be informed, but if you use that character in another battle. their 4th weapon will be available.

I was going on my PS2 memory card to delete a rubbish game save, when I saw 'corrupted data' I figured out that it was my SW2:E save! So I went to delete it and when it was deleting is stopped and said 'delete failed' I was very annoyed at this time. I started to play the game in hope that I could just overite, it said when I was trying to save 'Unable to save, corrupted data found' I was very very annoyed at this time, I had just concured all of western and middleland Japan (I was on easy because I had to start again, that is why I did it quick).
Curious to know if this has happened to anyone playing it on the PS2, because I am annoyed! :(

What's a regional stage? Is it like the one where you just conquer a bit of Japan?

And thanks for the Smith tip.

I got this game on saturday and I like it, which makes it better is that my brother hates Koei games and therefore doesn't take my time up on it.

But I always need to be historical and for example if I am Tokugawa, I will not have anyone but Tokugawa officers, this is bad for the smallers clans like the Hojo etc as they have less officers that I can use, oh well, I completed a story with an army of 9 officers, yay!

Wow.... 9 officers o.O I could do that...but it would be very hard... Like 1 officer defending each of the back teritories (that they can reach) while the other attack similarly...it would be hard (or just get lucky and don't get attacked at the back :P)
U won't be able to get most events by being historical though...

Pretty much impossible here... the scenarios are too different. You MAY be able to trigger Anegawa in the Kawanakajima scenario. But Honnoji requires Akechi (and possibly Shibata and Hashiba too) to be separate from Oda. Sekigahara requires Hideyori Toyotomi, Mitsunari Ishida, Hideaki Kobayakawa and Ieyasu Tokugawa to be on the map (and probably they will need some inferior alliances too). Osaka Castle requires Sekigahara!

OK, so I'm playing Nobunaga in the 1561 Kawanakajima scenario, it's 1582, and Mitsuhide just turned on me and marched to Honnoji. I stationed Mitsuhide in Yamashiro and Nobunaga is in Omi, and when Mitsuhide rebelled, Yamashiro switched from Oda rule to Akechi rule. Judging by the cutscene that shows, you must have No and Ranmaru in your force, which I do, possibly also Nobutada. I also had Hosokawa Fujitaka and Tadaoki under Mitsuhide as well, but I don't know if that's a factor. As for other clans, there's only the Shimazu left in Kyushu, and the Date in eastern Japan. I have everything from Mino to Chikuzen.

If I'm horribly late with this information, well, meh. It was new for me. :)

Edit: If you fight the Honnoji battle and lose, Nobunaga, Ranmaru, No, and Nobutada will all die, you claim a successor to Nobunaga, and both Hideyoshi and Katsuie will secede as new forces where they are stationed (though I had them in Harima and Echizen respectively.)

(Having just read the same post on GameFAQs...) ^_^

Well, that solves a problem. I'm still fairly sure though that Sekigahara can't be obtained outside of its own scenario though - the maps really are too different.

Any idea if this can be triggered in the 1570 Anegawa scenario? I don't think it can, as I played through that scenario as Nobunaga's force and it didn't trigger.

i know there are 4th weapons in this game, but i wanna make sure on the method, from what i gather, get weapon level to five, then in any level, get at least 500 kills, cause thats how i got them.

Does anyone else have any other methods?

The only mephod for them is get the smith of whatever type of weapon you want to level 4, you don't need 5. And then u get 500 KOs.

I believe that is the ONLY method, why do you need another one? This thread is pointless.

...You can go any officer in SW2:E.... no need to unlock etc... You just need to select them... (thats for free mode and the custom time period) the other time periods they may not be of age/ be dead...
