Why train up your own officers when you can just get the enemy to do it for you!!
By the time you hire an officer who is already level 20, you won't be able to max out their stats after defeating 1,000 enemies. ;)

SW2:Empires is probably my favorite game out of all of the SW games out there so far! I played this game for three days (without saving) and was trying to unlock Incident at Honnoji, but I didn't know you actually had to save a FILE of the other scenario in order to get it. I'm gonna play it again later to see if I can actually get it this time.

I've also encountered what seems to be a voice glitch. I was doing a "help ally" battle and Nobunaga was there along with Magoichi and Noh (and a few generic officers nobody cares about :P ), and I was getting majorly beaten up so I called for help, and everyone responded with their usual "we're coming to help" response except Nobunaga. xD; Instead he said something like, "Time to stay put, I think." Is this normal? Or is this a glitch? He still followed me around when I had the "all gather" command on, though. But I was wondering if this is a glitch that is common in everyone's game? I'll probably check his voice in the gallery to see if it really is what he says. By the way, I'm NOT a Nobunaga fan at all, so I found it humorous when he actually said that. xD It was like... pay back, or something.

It's not a glitch, he will say that quote when he moves to defend an allied officer.

Ah, I see. Thank you for replying! I was curious about that. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Does anyone else find the same clans almost always rise to power most games? For me it's always the Chosokabe, Shimazu or Miyoshi... I wish it would be a bit more realisitc, I've never seen the Oda/Toyotomi/Tokugawa do anything meaningful when I'm not playing as them.

A clan with multiple fiefs have a better chance of claiming more territory. I noticed in certain Empire Mode scenarios, it's usually the Oda, Shimazu and Mouri clans gaining fiefs quickly whenever I'm playing a separate clan.

If the theory doesn't apply, then a clan with more, higher-leveled officers have a better chance invading/defending territories, due to the high morale(number of troops) is given at a higher level. Morale actually plays a huge role in the game, especially the health, strength, defense and the capture-rate of AI-controlled officers.

Also, the Mouri clan has a tendency of using fire ninjas very often, and the Oda abusing with the aid of wind ninjas; Whenever you're up against certain "historical superpowers." :\

The Shimazu are at least somewhat believable, they usually end up conquering Kyushu and pushing into Mori territory but the Miyoshi and Chosokabe? I find their constant success ridiculous. I'm playing as the Mori in 1561 and the Miyoshi have completely taken over Central Japan, now it's only the myself (taken over Kyushu and Shikkoku), the Miyoshi, Takeda, Uesugi and Date left...

In contrast the Tokugawa most of the time easily get overrun by either the Takeda or Oda, and the Toyotomi in 1582 are usually gone in the first few years... I find Nobunaga usually ends up sticking around for awhile but I've never seen the Oda become any major threat in all my games so far.

i agree with the shimazu and mori they have normally taken over that area but if i play anegawa it is always the oda who take over most of the time -but they do have like five areas already as a start -
