What? No, you're being too specific on "options."

DW5XL/E had the following options for CAWs.

Name
Gender
Face
Body
Clothing
Moveset
Voice

Does that mean that SW2:E will have even more choice? Or am I just a bloody idiot? Because if there is 10 sets again and 10 options...

Well, DW5XL/E has seven, SW2E has ten.

What we don't know yet, though, is how detailed each option is. Maybe we'll only get four clan emblems to choose from, maybe fifteen.

So it's still a big maybe.

Yes. However, within each of those options you had multiple other options.

Name-Self-explanatory.
Gender: You could choose between male and female. Each had unique stuff. ;)
Face: 10 or so different choices for face and 10 or so different choices for hair. Plus these choices vary for female and male.
Body: A large amount of different kinds of heights and weights. You couldn't make your characters obese as hell (a shame in my opinion), but you could make em a bit chubby if they were male.
Clothing: 10 or so different choices for headgear, body armour and leg armour. Plus it differs for male and female plus there are 6 different choices for color for each different piece of equipment.
Moveset: 40+ types of movesets. >:)
Voice: 3 different choices for male, 3 for female.

Again, if you multiply everything together, you'll find that there are so many different options for how you want to make your created warrior. >:D

Now before DW5: XL came out, Koei stated some extremely high number for how many combinations you could make. It was something enormous like 20,000. Until Koei spouts off a number as big or bigger for Samurai Warriors 2: Empires, I'm not going to be optimistic about how good the Create-A-Warrior system will be. ;)

Yes, but the problem is that you're doing this with DW5XL/E, which we already know all the sub-options it has for CAW beyond the primary seven options.

For SW2E, we only know there's ten primary options. For all we know there might be three sub-options under Body, or whatever.

I suggest waiting for the game to actually come out in Japan. By that time, some people, that pre-commanded the game, will probably fill in the details for us. Or wait for more info from Koei. It's too early to make assumptions.

I see six regions, and at least four different clan emblems including Shimazu. One of the others will likely be Ootomo.

i also recognized the Ootomo and the Ryuzoji emblems!! :P nice... (i like both those clans)

I think CAW = create a warrior. I've wondered what it ment but always forgot to ask, i'm preety sure that's what it is though.

I didn't think that the create-a-warrior on DW5: XL was that good. Although much better then 4, it still didn't really excite me. It needed more faces, and definately more voices, 3 isn't many at all. I hope in SW2E that it has alot more to offer.

First of all, you are right that 'CAW' means 'create a warrior.' The name was originally used as 'create a wrestler,' when the Smackdown games were coming out and had some of the best create a character tools, if I'm not mistaken. Now it's used to describe people's created characters and the mode that allows you to create em.

Secondly, I disagree. I thought the DW5: XL create-a-warriors mode was above average. It could have been better, obviously, but it was definitely the best CAW mode Koei's come up with, and it was quite decent by gaming standards in general. Its' main flaws were 1.) it needed more voices, and 2.) it needed more movesets you could choose. Other than that though it was pretty damn good for Koei.

Woah woah woah. I played DW5XL awile ago, but I recall being able to choose from about 50(!!!) weapons. Don't you think that's enough? @.@

No, because you're forgetting the fact that of those about 50 weapons, most of them belonged to characters already in the game. The only original CAW weapons were the 'great sword' and 'rapier,' which were initially weapons of the characters Nu Wa and Fu Xi from Dynasty Warriors 3...

Koei needed to add more ORIGINAL weapons and/or movesets that CAWs could use.

Yeah, 48 of which were direct copies of existing weapons used by other characters. At least in SW they use unique sets exclusively for CAWs. Though I think established sets will be available again in SW2E.

November 16, as it is noted: 2006/11/16 on the website. Well...it'd better be worth it. I want to see videos of it as soon as possible, to see if it is good or not.

hmm what do u mean?.... i work at a store called Game Crazy.. i'm a shift leader there... if i sell a lot of the new releases i get comission.. it's good that i have to well.. i won't force people obviously but i'll just tell them about SW...it's like a persuasion, but it's not critical... i have to get customers into games.. if they like it? cool if not.. then they can just return it..

Well, the first SW really doesn't lend itself to an Empires version very well.

Nearly everything in that occurred in central Honshu and slightly north. Plus there were several castle-only stages which would have not worked at all with the Empires style of gameplay.

In SW2, we have battles in Kyushu, more northern battles, and castle stages are replaced with real siege battles. Thus it lends itself better to the Empires idea. The inclusion of Kyushu people and an expanded cast overall adds to it.

I'll probably end up playing the Mouri like I did Yuan Shu in DW5 Empires though. <_<

SW 2 Empires I dont believe has launched in japan yet, but besides the empire mode like DW 5 empires, is there any new characters? anything that makes it a lot more interesting then SW 2?

Also I hope in SW 2 Empires that the allied generals are more stronger, because in SW 2 you haft to basicly baby sit every general from a way underpowered general with some peons. In DW 5 empires the generals can sustain for awhile and even move around killing other generals, It would of been nice to have this in SW 2. One thing I know about SW 2 Empirs is that Koujiro is playable (spelled wrong) and I believe someone told me his move set isnt Unique & is just Generic which I guess that means he will have same moves as say Mitsuhide?
