Not really, it's just hard getting used to the few hit combos compared to the new versions.

Otherwise it's much the same as any other DW game
Takeda Katsuyori
Bio: Shingen’s son and Daimyo of Kai. He was less cautious than Shingen and, consequently was able to do things that Shingen could not. He kept the Takeda alive and fighting the Hojou, Tokugawa and Oda even after the Battle of Nagashino.
Perks: Total War (causes a lot of damage to buildings and enemy troops in siege battles when you're on the attacking side)
Legendary Charge: Samurai used by Katsuyori do more damage if this ability is used, but are slightly more susceptible to gunfire.
Spirit of Shingen: When Shingen is on the field, Katsuyori can use this skill to give him and Shingen a morale boost. If Shingen is dead, not on the field or defeated, Katsuyori can use this skill to give himself and one other general an offense boost.

I heard than Dynasty Warriors 2 is very difficult :s, is it?

If comparing only Hard difficulties, I would say DW2 is harder than DW4 and DW5, but equal to DW3. For beginner, even Normal difficulty can be really tough (like it was for me). I list some reasons why DW2 is actually so hard:

1. S string is only 4 attacks long and you can only perform 3 Charge attacks.

2. Juggling is hard.

3. Enemy generals recover HP and obtain power ups when they fall to the ground.

4. Finishing enemy generals with Musou doesn't always work, because they can counter-attack with their own Musou attack (so you should avoid it when your life is at critical).

5. Allies are dumb, even when you are playing YT Rebellion for example, they die quickly and you'll be left alone.

6. There are no items or new weapons to equip.

There are still few others, but I just listed the main ones >_>.

I liked that part about DW2. Not necessarily the Allies dying heaps but the enemy generals were actually a challenge. You never knew when one would suddenly recover health which, while frustrating, made you think carefully about how to tackle an enemy general.

Also, the "Save whenever you want" thing in the new DW games is a tad rediculous. Even with a limit of 3 saves, you rarely ever use 2. I think they should bring back the hidden memory card as in DW2.

No thanks. It would be challenging, but really annoying as well. Like, when you try to get ultimate weapons and you fail, but have saved before the failure, you don't need to start the whole stage from the beginning. Besides, if I have to suddenly stop playing, it would be annoying to try to search memory card from huge stage like Wu Zhang Plains.

I have played it extensively. I just can't go back to it anymore though. Its not bad or anything..its just...kind of dull now. Something I really hate is how the camera changes on me to mess up my combo right after I kill a general. WTF ORO, was this a stupid idea or what? But something I really like is that allies weren't totally useless and you got to see top ally KO scores at the end of each stage. Hmm... I think I'll trade it in to help with my purchase of Megaman ZX. >_>

I still think Dynasty Warriors 2 is still the best out of the whole damn series. Alot of the features in DW2 do not even show up in the new titles. The levels were alot more fun too because the new ones are just so damn repititive. Don't even get me started with Dynasty Warriors 1, I bought that game 6 years ago for the Playstation, it was really awful. To go from a fighting game to a hack and slash adventure game was a really big improvement.

I remember renting a couple games when I first got a PS2...

DW2 was one of them, along with WinBack Covert Operations. These 2 games kept me occupied in middle school. I was overjoyed when DW3 came out afterwards too.

*off topic* Does anyone know what year Sony implemented the "memory card" holder in their PS2 game cases? I have many games such as, DW2, The Bouncer, Summoner, Kengo, and some others that do not have the memory card holder. (The original cases) Did the original WinBack game have a memory card holder within the case or was that before Sony made the cases with the holders?

O yes DW 2 now that was and still is one of the best in the series. This is because of the time you would spend on a level trying to coplete it esp on normal a mean come on guys how hard was normal, wasnt that normal for those who havn't played it. and i have yet to venture hard without a maxed charater.

I played Dynasty Warriors 2 recently, and the easy mode is like hard mode for Dynasty Warriors 5. The AI is really insane, its hard to even move through crowds without getting hit. Dynasty Warriors 2 now feels really campy to me after having not played it in so long.

Hells yea. In fact I went back to it about 3 weeks ago just to check out the differences. Granted Xu Zhu wsn't so dumb and so on....I noticed there were a hell of alot more enemies on the screen than in 5.

Anyone else think so?

Alot more enemies in DW2, I say the most. AI is really strong, but KOEI I guess thought it was too Hard so they dumbed it down for the other titles.

As I said before, even playing as Lu Bu will still give you a fair amount of trouble. DW2, IMO, is the most difficult DW I have ever played. I was a bit astonished when I made the transition from playing the older DW games to the newer DW games such as 4 and 5 because of their level of difficulties. I still haven't been able to complete DW2 because there's always a stage that comes back to bite me in the @$$.

Dynasty Warriors 2 was very hard, every time you knocked a general down he healed or something like that, only had 4 attacks, privates & major people used weapons like generals and there were many weapon deadlocks....too many.....
