So I'm guessing this game might be about Yiki Hideyasu then, I remember reading somewhere that it was rumored that he was born with blond hair. Though that could easily have been a lie. Either way, I look forward to hearing more about the game.
( I can not speak english well )

The playable character "Samurai" looks like a "european" Samurai. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Is the playable character "Samurai" a european Samurai?

Base on the concept art on the KW mainsite, he looks like either a foreigner or someone with mixed blood. The picture also shows an European woman on the left, so I'm guessing this game will deal with some foreign relation. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing that. I liked some of of the European influence in the Onimusha games.

This game probably won't sell too well in North America if they keep that name.

I think Nioh means something like the protectors who stand guard outside a gate at Japanese Buddhist temples. I'm pretty sure that's what it is or just protectors of Buddha in general.

Anyways, if you guys already don't know Ni-Oh is based on a previously lost script from the legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. The movie, which was set to be Kurosawa's sons directoral debut, was cancelled.

The funny thing is that the name of the movie and game was going to be called Oni. Though there is already another game called Oni so I think that's why they originally changed the name to Ni-Oh.

I can see it now. Dynasty Warriors: Ni-Oh. It's totally cashable.

LOL that would work if it wasn't for the fact that this game takes place in Japan rather than China :XD

Though it worked for Gundam

Maybe something to clarify the game more.

NI-OH: Ultimate Warrior
NI-OH: The Oni Warrior

That would be a very bad idea. Considering that Capcom could easily sue KOEI for putting "Onimusha" in their title.

I'm 100% sure that Onimusha is trademarked by Capcom. The copyright laws are different though in Asia, but I'm sure Capcom would take some legal action against KOEI if they ever did that.

If this is impossible, then KOEI can make the title of the game:
"NI-OH: Ultimate Warrior"
or
"NI-OH: The Oni Warrior"

I think, these titles also very good titles :)

Oh, so this game is going to happen. 'Looks' pretty cool anyway ;) . Maybe Tecmo are going to have a say in it seeing as they merged and now Ni-Oh is confirmed to happen. Wonder hoe the gameplay will be too?

( I am from Germany. I can not speak english well )

I think, this is a very good and very interesting Samurai Action game. One of the best Samurai games. And, one of the best Samurai games of KOEI.

I hope, "KOEI" and "Omega Force" and "TECMO" and "Team Ninja" work together on this game. Then the game will be better, and then the game is a very good Hack and Slash & Action Adventure game, like the game "God of War 3".

And, here are another two current News about "Ni-Oh":
1- http://www.destructoid.com/koei-s-ni-oh-resurfaces-after-four-years-128126.phtml

2- http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/koeis-ni-oh-is-back-from-the-dead/

So the movie was cancelled? Does that mean the game's been cancelled as well? I haven't heard like, anything since it was announced.

Sorry for bumping an old topic.

The movie is canceled, but the game is still on. Probably won't be any details for awhile.
