Lord of KOEI Warriors: Conquerors Posts: 2,786 Group: Members Member #2,509 Joined: July 7, 2006 Gender Male	Anyone here a fan of the Dynasty Tactics series? I havn't played the first one, but I find the second one pretty decent, the graphics are good, but I found it got quite boring, well the fighting did anyway... Your thoughts?

Its more of a strategy game, and possibly a much more in-depth storyline then Dynasty Warriors. Though Dynasty Tactics 2 (the only one I've played) was great at start, but when there were big battles, it got extremely boring, also more repetitive then usual. But the storyline makes it worth it.

Dynasty Tactics is based around the Three Kingdoms. It's pretty much like Dynasty Warriors (similar character designs for some characters, following the same story dw does etc), but the gameplay is different, and if memory serves, the story is a lot more detailed then Dynasty Warriors. When you are not in battle, it is a bit like Rome Total War plus ROTTK together, where you would manage your kingdom, hire new officers, manage your armies and decide where to invade next. Though when you are in battle, it is completely different, it is a turn based strategy gameplay, where your officers each take a turn to move, then they take a turn to attack (if they can that is), you can use numerous abilities and do chain attacks to bring advantage to your battle and have increased kills. A unit is whiped out when you defeat all troops of that unit. You kill so many troops each time you attack that unit, depending on how you attack is depending on how much damage you will deal. I like it that it has a "Fire Emblem" feel to it.. but what would be cool though if they added duels. I assume he was trying to spell daughter...

Unregistered	There is no main character. You can play as Liu Bei's kingdom, Cao Cao's kingdom, Sun Ce's kingdom or Lu Bu's kingdom. Lu Bu is one of the more important characters, but I wouldn't call him the main one. Edit-This is in the second Dynasty Tactics game. In the first one you can play all of them sans Lu Bu. Cao Cao's kingdom is a lot better in the first one, and sort of has an unfair advantage in it...

I have played DT, and I was pretty satisfied. to bad I can't find DT2 anywhere. But the boringness of the battles, that's what you get if you wish strategy. Love it IMO

In Lurker Mode Posts: 815 Group: Members Member #41 Joined: August 28, 2005	I definetely love this piece by Koei. When I play something more difficult then Dynasty Warriors, I pop in Tactics. Almost the same universe and the same characters, just a different style of play. It's the only intelligent Koei game I own since I have yet to play an ROTK game. They really should make a third game to this series.

Tiger General Posts: 413 Group: Members Member #150 Joined: November 4, 2005	I had borrowed DT I and really enjoyed it, so I bought II as soon as it came out. The only thing I don't like is, I'll look at the clock and think 'ah it's early...I have lots of time to play'. Then I look at the clock again and 4 hours have past hehehehe. It is definitely one of my favorite games. I've played as all Kingdoms and now working on going through the game on the hardest difficulty level.

I liked the DT games very much So i was going to ask, is there any information if KOEI is even thinking about making another DT game? (or possibly a Samurai Tactics o.O)

I always got bored in the long battles, it was the same ol' thing over and over for like 40 minutes. I guess they could add more storylines, maybe shorter, but still good (like scenarios instead of fully fledged stories).
