i enjoy creating officers the only thing i do not like though is that you can't be everyone particularly no caw can be MITSUHIDE AKECHI Why? no fair... other then that i don't mind at all. oh and here is a list of names i used for my officers Matsu Maeda she was a body guard in sw2 Akira takarada an actor in Gojira movies Akira Kurosawa you all know him Kyoko Manabe she was the lady who was controled by the kiraku in destroy all monsters Megumi Odaka she was the actress that played as miki saegusa in the later godzilla movies Miki Saegusa she was same above. Kenji Shibata i wanted to create a brother for Katsuii Shibata. Fumiko Kosaka the name is awesome and i gaver her the magoichi weapon. Kumi Mizuno she was an actress in gojira movies also.. |

I personally think that DW5: E had a MUCH better CAW than SW2: E, Because DW gave you the option to customise your character much more than SW, and DW had unique models rather than the generic ones of SW... Hopefully in SW3, a CAW akin to the one they had in SW1 is included but of course much more customised and worked upon. |

CAW in SW2E is really a disappointment, they concentrated more on the strategy part of the game. It would be good if the customization was as good as DW5E one. |

The only thing truly better about DW5E's CAW is much more choices for females. CAW strengths DW5E: -More clothing/face/hair choices -Change size of character -Can pick any player character's weapon SW2E: -Can choose from generic models -Almost twice as many color choices -Can pick from 4 voices rather than DW's 3 -Can pick generic officer's weapons -Can pick stat growth -(limited) customizable abilities CAW weaknesses DW5E: -Many clothing/face/hair choices sucked -HORRIBLE voice selection(worst thing here, even more so since the Japanese CAW voices were mostly great; It sucks ass to have ALL of my females have the Innocent voice, but it's the only decent one! Even worse is I loved Relaxed in Japanese [very regal, princess-like voice] but the English one[bored whore] is even worse than the difference between SW1's Nouhime voice in Japanese and English! :() -NO customization for stats(second worst thing here!) SW2E: -Lacks customization for clothing/face/hair beyond preset models(color can still be changed however) -Some officer weapons are not usable --- Is the look of your character so important that you would sacrifice: good voice choices and the ability to customize stat growth and special abilities? DW4E's CAW was better than DW5E and SW2E both, anyway. SW2E at least managed to keep most of what was good from it instead of discarding it all for just good looks. |

Yes it is. I've never cared that much about voices and, to be honest, stat growth is hardly all that important in a game where you just cut down tons of enemies. How cool your warrior looks, though, is. |

Maybe KOEI should go look at other games CAW or whatever their equivalent names are... Like Soul Calibur III for example? I think it was quite decent...and don't get me started on PREVIOUS WWE games..those were quite good, now aint that good. |

I didn't really hate the CAW system in Empires, but I was peeved at the serious lack of options when it came to your character's appearance. If they gave as many options as they did in DW5XL (minus the lame male face and hair options), then I would've been pretty satisfied with it. |

Eh... I thought Soul Calibur III's character creation got really lame after a while. Most of the faces on that game sucked. While it was decent to re-creating characters for other games I hardly felt I was creating a character that really belonged in the game (but then, Soul Calibur hasn't actually been good gameplay-wise since the first Soul Calibur). |

those are valid weaknesses and strengths to most they would agree. including myself. however , i kinda enjoyed all caw creation. it just added more players to choose from. and sw caw had the chance to have generic generals created. if dw does that that would be cool. but like i said i like caw creation so it makes no difference to me what things they have and don't have for them. |

I liked the CAW in DW5 XL/Empires better. However SW2 Empires had some good options in it to. What I would like to see is some unique movesets(Like Fu Xi and Nu Wa,considering their not in DW games anymore). At least 5 would be good. Some extra options like DW5XL and it would've been great! |

SW2E not-so-strengths: -Can choose from generic models The premise behind making an officer is to have the freedom to look different. How is being able to make your supposedly original warrior look exactly like everyone else a strength? -Almost twice as many color choices That's a result of the way the game's structured. In DW5, there are six major forces: Shu, Wei, Wu, Yellows, Dong Zhuo's and Lu Bu's. In SW there's around twice that. -Can pick generic officer's weapons Again, how is this a good thing? The generic officer's movelists are restricting and weak compared to a main characters'. -Can pick stat growth Redundant, because DW doesn't implement an experience mechanic, relying on stat improvement items. In the end you're choosing how your character is improved by what items you pick up. DW5XL not-so-weaknesses -Many clothing/face/hair choices sucked That's entirely your opinion, I liked the selection here. -HORRIBLE voice selection Not only entirely opinionated, but wholly redundant. You're playing a Warriors game; most of the main characters' voices are awful. -NO customization for stats(second worst thing here!) Incorrect. DW doesn't implement an experience mechanic, relying on stat improvement items. In the end you're choosing how your character is improved by what items you pick up. As for your final point: no matter which one you prefer, by the time we reach endgame with a character their stats will be exactly the same as the next guy: totally maxed out. The only point of difference will be, weapons aside, how the character looks. I'd rather an original edited officer than a generic one. |
