I am surpised no one made a topic for Ma Chao. Everyone should remember him as one of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu. He was also known for his Battle of Tong Gate against Cao Cao's forces. In my opinion, I think Ma Chao is one of the best overall character in the Shu Kingdom mainly because he has the best horse+attacks ever. Just equipping a Shadow Harness, his 4th level weapon and his true musou all together and you got one powerhouse killing machine. What are your opinions on him? Love him? Hate him? Discuss about him all here. |

Like I've said in the past before... Ma Chao/Pang De/Zhou Tai/anyone who slashes on one side + horse = funny He's easily my favorite Shu general. I was first attracted to him due to his appearance in DW (freaking Dragon armor!) but as I later read his heroic actions in the novel, I liked him even more. He's one of my personal favorite generals of the period. |

Yeh one of the first characters i couldnt stop playing with he was that kool. he can also fly for a short period in a charge attack. |

Ma Chao's move set is awesome, my favorite. fast, strong and long range. awesome C6. And his armor is just crazy awesome! Go dragon! |

I only ever use him in DW5:XL (or his moveset) where his abilty on a horse help me make it to the 30th stage. |

I'm inclined to agree too. Ma Chao's horse combat in itself is more than enough to put him on top tier, but look at the rest of his moveset. S string: decent, bordering on could be better for a long-range weapon C1: again, decent--but you'd have to worry about being hit out of it C3: I have NO idea why people say that's a great move. It's completely stab-linear, and MUST be used with a Light orb (or in conjunction with an icy C6) to even be halfway effective on officers. C4: rendered useless by his C1, which I think is a better knockback move C5: decent, but can miss if equipped with a Wind Scroll C6: the 360 move with 360 shockwave ender. It's the best move he's got on the ground. Jump Charge: fair enough, good for escape Dash: decent Normal Musou: mmm, not that good for a long-range weapon. It can miss its intended target near the end. True Musou: tradeoff. The wide 360 hurriblast ender WOULD make for a great combo tool on officers as well as clearing crowds, but the recovery time is significantly slow. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a True Musou ender you can combo off, doesn't it? Now, I think he would be fourth tier AT BEST with his ground moves, and with his horse combat, easy top tier. But since I take BOTH into consideration, I would put him at second tier maybe. Especially since I'm sure there are players who DON'T like to use the horse. |

The only thing that I think is remotely exceeding about him is the fact that his musou on a horse is good, however Zhou Tai can be used for that as they share the same one. |

Yep I am sure most people are really big fans of his with me as no exception!
 He is actually one of the few character who has always been improved upon after each installment. A great story, personality,voice, moveset and appearance! |

Ma Chao was awesome in dw 3/4 but in 5...his special seemed a bit weaker to me for some reason and his voice/personality was annoying and didnt really appeal. He was perfect in dynasty warriors 4 in my opinion. Always loved the armour though. |

I'm always fond of spear users because of their range. He's a monster on a horse, best with the Shadow horse. Ma Chao's helmet looked better in DW4 than DW5. |

Gonna have to disagree with a few of you and say that his DW5 voice was better than his past ones. I don't know. It just sounds less generic. And I think it had more feeling behind it. |

I agree with satsu Ryu. Chao's DW5 voice was perfect in my opinion. He sounded just yet fierce. |

Hello everyone, im a big ma chao fan and after getting to see his new outfit im actually pretty satisfied with it. i mean it's not anything special ,but atleast his new design didn't get slaughtered like some other characters. i just wanted to see everyone elses opinions and to make sure im not the only one who's ok with this... |
