When I first bought DW5, I had done so without researching any of the new characters, just for the surprise factor when I actually played it. The first thing i did when i first put this game into my PS2(after moaning a little about the lack of character creation...) was check the roster of characters on Free Mode, and I was immediately intrigued by this one. I had chosen her to play through what was Zhao Yun's first musou mode stage(can't remember the name. i only remember it was against the Yellow Turbans and Yuan Shao led the allies, but it wasn't the Rebellion.) As you all may well know, she fights with a Long Fork and a shield, so I was quite taken aback from the start. I deduced three things before I started the battle: 1. She's a female character, likely to be quite fast. 2. She uses a long fork, hence range will be pretty good. 3. She had a shield, so her defense must be OK. She was much better than I thought. I mean... She has some excellent crowd-clearance attacks, and can deal with enemies without much threat of them being able to hit back. With her, I had even obtained the Fire Arrows on my first go! (Big wow, you must think, but it was a big thing for me XD) But as I had used her more, gotten her fourth weapon, and nearly maxed her out, I got... bored. Her later charge attacks were not as good as her previous ones, and her fourth weapon had not exactly made much of an improvement to the crappy third one i had at that point. I only used her then for the nostalgia. Anyway... Was anyone else shocked by this character, or perhaps disappointed after researching her? Oh, and i'm talking playability in the game here, not her appearance in it XD |

Well... I didn't mean researched historically. I meant more... looked into her as a character for the game. My historical trivia is no where near as good as that of the games, and I am aware that the history involved in the games is not so accurate... But yeah... *cough* |

Xing Cai's a waste of space. If they wanted another fictional female for Shu they already had Bao(Mei) Sanniang and Ma Yunlu to draw from Kessen/ROTK. |

I love playing as her(after my CAW Zhau Ja) just look at my title! Out of all the female characters I am more familiar with her attacks than any of the others. She was also the first female character and second warrior I played as. |

Xing Cai is Shu's Cao Ren since her standard attack string cannot be interrupted by normal means, I like that. |

I thought she was pretty fun until I reached her C6. Big letdown for me  I really do like her C5 though, and use it in the way someone would use Zhang Liao's or Zhu Rong's C6, although a little more aim is required. I do like the Cao Ren esque standard string, good fun >:3 Her weapon is awesome. It's a pitchfork, what's not to like? 8D *cue Xing Cai leading a mob, Ambition in one hand and a torch in the other XD* And how could you not talk about appearance? :B She's hot, end of story. However, she needs a new VA. It's far too squeaky for her >_>; I mean, mentally I end up switching her voice with Da Qiao. |

Xing Cai is good character, in fact she is the first character I used in DW5....maybe I was curious to see her movesets....Overall, she has a cool attitude and manners....great outfit....just her movesets are a bit down.....her C6, if i'm not mistaken is worse....hate it....>.<... |

Xing Cai is definitely one of the worst females. Hopefully KOEI gives her a new appearance, voice, and weapon in DW6. |

She is okay.... But the only thing I don really like her about was her voice and attack mode. She seems like only can fight one person at the same time... And Sometimes I feel like she was a robot cuz everytime she fights, her body and arm only move step by step at the same time... I don feel any natural 'bout it!!! :angry: |

While her moveset isn't the best, i actually find that i'm still quite good with her. She was the first character i used in DW5 and is my most used character. Xing Cai is also the first character that i maxed out and got her 4th weapon first aswell! |

If we're led to believe that she is the same daughter of Zhang Fei who married Liu Chan...then that'd make her Xiahou Yuan's grand daughter...and I think they should incorporate that into the game. Though it may confuse some...Also Zhang Fei being Yuan's son in law should be brought up. Haha..funny image... :wacko: |

I'm sorry, but I don't like using Xing Cai very much. Personally, the ONLY good attack she's got on the ground is her C3, I abuse that to the dickens. Her horse is all right, but her weapon needs different stats. She is NOT that fast of a runner--I think she trumps even Zhu Rong for the slowest female in the game. Her Musou is all right, not much I can say to improve it, but I was disappointed at first when I played her. I just hope she'll be better in DW6 although I can't guarantee she'll even be in DW6. |

I dislike Xing Cai only because her moveset is a pain to work with imo. Her musou isn't any better. I wish she was able to move around with her musou then maybe I would've like her a bit more. |

Xing Cai's awesome. But her moveset is sometimes hard. Some of her attacks are hard to aim. Her musou attack is good though if you can directly hold the opponent in place. I love her japanese voice. It sounds mature, unlike the other female jap. voice. The english voice of her is horrible though. D; I found myself using her a lot for some reason. She's definitely not the strongest of the females but I just like to use her character often. ^^ Too bad they removed her in DW6. |

I like Xingcai very much. However, she's not one of my favourite characters to use because her moveset is too difficult for me to use. As someone mentioned before, her movesets seem to target only one opponent most times, and I think everyone love crowd-clearers which Xingcai isn't. She is more of a technique-based character, I suppose. I was about to give up all hopes on her when I put her on a horse after a Mt. Dingjun stage... Time was running out as enemies keep popping out and my allies are so friggin useless that my Xingcai had to clear up all the mess one by one. It's a slow and tedious work because Xingcai's not a crowd-clearer, and so it takes up alot of time to beat the stage. :\ My lesson was to put her on a horse to save lots of time, and I got a surprise. She turns out to be a crowd-clearer on horse! One crucial criteria for a good horse-person is that the attack must be swift enough. Not many characters in DW fit this bill (two other good ones are Ma Chao and Cao Pi), but Xingcai does. She's been clearing crowds after crowds in seconds after that.
