Who was more talented? by the novel Cao Cao was good at attacking while Liu Bei was good at winning the hearts of the people. Sun Quan was good in civil affairs and made Wu surivive. I like all of them |

Liu Bei for me, he was the people person - which is I feel extremely important it gaining quality allies. Cao Cao is portrayed as ruthless and often using others to his advantage. Smart no doubt, but l just hold the "people person" ruler in higher regard. |

If Zhuge Liang was considered a ruler...I'd vote for him. The problem is, I'm not a big fan of the 'novel' Liu Bei. In fact, I think historically Liu Bei was a lot more competent than the novel makes him out to be. The same goes for Cao Cao and Sun Quan... I don't really think the novel Sun Quan did anything bad other than be extremely petty over the Jingzhou issue and get into fights with his mommy. Therefore, I'm going to vote for him.

Cao Cao is an excellent leader. But he is quite cruel, too. Meanwhile, Liu Bei is too kind and virtuos... I guess Cao Cao is still better than Liu Bei. |

Cao Cao gets my vote, he was a great leader. Held great political court affairs, was a Master of it too. Took many precautions in battles, always seeks advice from his advisers. Since his youth, he proved what a man could be. |

I agree, it is kind of unfair that Cao Cao was portrayed as a villain, and there were many parts in the book where Cao Cao's actions were opposite of what he has and/or would've done historically. |

Well Koei made Zhang He sorta like a Girl.. Don't be surprised of an Evil Cao Cao But.. He did a Great Job, Much better than Sun Quan (Realized that like a Week ago) and he was Good. It's just that everyone was a bit Changed in the Novel. |

My favorite? Cao Cao. He didn't waste time on preaching virtue or anything like that- no, he was a man of action. He got things done. An excellent ruler on both sides of the equation, he may not have been the kindest person but if he had his way China would have been unified in a flash, and the people's suffering would have ended that much quicker I surmise. |

This is Lo Kuan-Chung we're talking about, not Koei. Yeah, a lot of people were changed, especially Cao Cao, Sun Quan, and most of the Five Tiger Generals. |

Cao Cao. He's a real leader. He leads the armies. When he holds court, he displays his attributes as a real leader, as he juggles advices from men and even has his own opinion. In comparison, Liu Bei, aside from his virtue and charisma, is nothing if not for Zhuge Liang. Sun Quan is even worse. He just listens to whatever advices he hears first and doesn't have his own stance. |

I like Cao Cao, since he was a dominant ruler, and ruled the people with an iron fist! But I prefer quite the opposite. I prefer Liu Bei. He was with the people and they were his main goal, besides ending the chaos. |

Teh novel mainly focuses on Liu Bei and Cao Cao, and Cao Cao is portrayed as a ruthless tyrant no better than Dong Zhuo. Liu Bei is potrayed as a hero with the intrests of people at heart Sun Quan is just a regional warlord that actully does rather well. But hardly anytime is given over to him, and what you do get, he's taking a back seat role in just about everything |

That's not really accurate. Liu Bei was rather criminalesque and selfish at a few heavy points in the book. I'm only 3/4 the way through the first book, but already Liu Bei has ditched his family in favor of his own safety multiple times, leaving them to the will of his enemies, he has abandoned his friends and the people in order to keep in good standing with ith the dominant lords of the time, and his betrayal of Lu Bu (according to the book) was black hearted. Cao Cao is an interesting one. Threatening to take his own life whenever he failed the people around him and yet murdering his benefactors, killing a woman who was 5-months pregnant, falsely blaming and executing advisers for the good they tried to create for him, etc. I read wikipedia's Sima Yi article, and he is exactly the style of person I like. Wish he had been ruler. |

Lui Bei, without hesitations. I think he was the most human of the three. People liked him because he has heart. I love his sense of justice and loyalty ! |

Cao Cao, both historically and novelwise. The guy is simply a genius among failure rulers in that poll IMO. He's the kind of leader I like, very ambitious and hard working. He quickly started a strong kingdom in tough times through tough situations. He didn't hesitate when he first started his army and became enemies with the biggest forces at his time, Dong Zhuo. His biography is just so big to sum, Liu Bei doesn't intrest me one bit. His " I KILL for PEACE" thing doesn't buy me, he was an incompetant ruler who just escaped from a forces' protection to another, I can list them too. Sun Quan is just someone I don't think he deserves to be a ruler, for one he totally fails at battles as I don't think he ever won a decent battle at his time. He always used those around him, not a bad thing but still lowers him in my eyes. Also, many rebellions broke at his kingdoms, at times, he seems to accept people's advices easily, makes me think he was a push over. Another clue to that, is that many generals usually had fights, another clue is Guan Yu's excution as Lu Meng didn't even report back to Quan.. makes him a push over ruler in my eyes for the said reasons. |
