 Special type for technical strength, but he has a brute force moveset. So it balances with his persona as a fighting strategist. This makes him similar to Lu Meng, who I absolutely loathe in DW, but Shima is a much better fighter.

He has a tendency to knock you pretty far away as well. This goes well with his arrow special though.

But the Elvis thing has to go Koei.

 Sakon is quite a powerful character, I love his C3. Unfortunately, Koei had to ruin him by giving him an Elvis thing.

Perk: Niten-Ichi (Musashi's attack is up permanently in any duels.)
Calm before the storm: Musashi may counter the next move his opponent makes and deals 2x the damage. 1/2 chance of working.
Wise one: Tactics used by Musashi have a much higher chance of succeeding.
Ganryu Slayer: When fighting other Wandering Ronin, Musashi may use this to increase his attack exponentially.

I agree that special doesn't work too well for me ... but the arrows attack? When maxed out, they are fire arrows & can be quite helpful, IMO. Try activating it, then running into a crowd. They also help knock officers off their horses.

 He is the best character in the game! Just give him an ice element sword and he is way better than Tadakatsu.
Kuroda Kanbei
Bio: A genius strategist from Chugoku, he helped Toyotomi Hideyoshi achieve his goals of uniting Japan. Later, after Hideyoshi died, he attempted to take control of Kyushu himself during Sekigahara.
Perk: Cunning (If fighting in a battle against a larger enemy force, Kanbei's first strategy will always exceed, and subsequent ones will be more successful)
Josui's Plan: Using this skill, Kanbei can reduce all enemy sohei to be as weak as ashigaru for three turns.
Skillful Siege: For this turn, Kanbei can deal massive damage to enemy buildings, siege weapons, ships, or gates. if he has cannons, the effect is greater.

 Sakon Shima, is by far my favorite character in the Series. He has an awesomely made personality, a good move set, and even uses the kind of weapon he was famous for using in real life, which was a two-handed falchion, as shown below

I think out of most of the characters they have in the series, Sakon is the most accurate, history wise, and the best in gameplay, with Tadakatsu next to him.

Takenaka Hanbei
Bio: A renowned strategist perhaps comparable to Zhuge Liang of the Chinese Three Kingdoms period. Originally serving the Saitou clan, he was later convinced by Hideyoshi to aid him.
Perk: Kongming of Sengoku (All of Hanbei's tactics have better chance of succeeding)
Inabayama Raid: Takenaka Hanbei can assign a small number of people to initiate a raid on an enemy fort with sure-fire success.
Fog of War: Hanbei can make fog appear for a few turns which will reduce the enemy's visibility as well as demoralizing them and stopping all enemy muskets from firing.
Flash Trampler: In a blinding speed, Hanbei incorporates multiple plans into one, creating a vibrant display of absolute knowledge and resolute power.
