I think the whole "Elvis" thing is just ridiculous . Videogame characters always use legendary quotes with different words. Sakon is no exception here. And I'm merging this with existing thread on SW2 CSD boards >_>. |

At first, i wasn't too keen on Sakon, but now i've played as / alongside him more, studying his history too.. i've grown to like him that much more. His elemental quake special is rather useless to say the least though (activation time + damage = abysmal). |

Sakon is one of my favorite characters. He has an interesting personality. He is sarcastic and arrogant in a good way, not conflicting like Mitsunari's. He definitely has an air of manliness and bada**ness around him. Also, his Elvis impersonations and sideburns make him popular. His moveset is one of the, IMO. He has great crowd control, and he attacks pretty fast for using a weapon of that size. Definitely one of the best characters, IMO. Overall: 9.5/10 Personality: 9; Arrogant, manly, sarcastic, he's definitely going to be popular. Moveset: 10; Awesome beyond words |

Considering I made my screen name based on him it's fair to say I like him. The personality he has in the game I find rather fascinating; he is both confindent and does so in a light hearted and somewhat arrogant way. "Brains and Braun, I've got it all", "But I have a very big sword" - I just like his attitude. Then as a fighter I think he is great, his moveset has more then adequate range and crowd clearing as well as a quality forward moving Musou. Then of course Cover Fire...now THAT is an amazing support skill (which can even kill officers on it's own!) |

I love Sakon Shima. He kinda reminded me of Xiahou Dun when I first used him. I love his musou and moveset. Easy to juggle around. |

I love his attitude and moveset. Some of his quotes can be so funny. All of his moves are great for crowdclearing and i like crowdclearing moves they are the best imo. Really cool weapon too :lol: |

i'm not fond of the whole Elvis schtick, but, he IS a good solid character. i'm not fond of his bastard sword, it would be SO hard to wield something like that in battle, realistically. but, it could be alot worse. his specials are so good, it's always a delight to kill Honda with nothing but the supporting cover fire. |

I hate that stupid Elvis junk he's got going on, I really do. It's so stupid ¬¬ His voice is good though, his moves are good, I like his musou and yeah he's pretty strong. I also like the fact that he's got a decent personality, and he's the only person in the game to actually SAY that Mitsunari is a jerk. He is indeed very wise in not liking him  And Sakon is also very, very handsome... even with those farmer sideburns. I voted the 2nd one, just because -even though he's not weak- I do find him quite annoying sometimes.

Stop calling I think the sideburns look really cool, I guess I would say that since I have some of my own...although nothing as out of control as his. xD Clearly, I consider him as one of the greatest in the game. He has a quality balance of speed, range, power & clearing to make him a rather simple and very enjoyable character to use. I'm also quite fond of his sarcastic and wise style personality he has. He reminds me of myself more then anyone else in the game, so of course I

He reminds me of Xiahou Dun in terms of balance between attacking power and speed, he is a great character to use and his specials are neat as well. Probably my favourite character on the Western forces after Mitsunari. |

Well, he's very well-balanced, great move-set musou mode very good. Attacks with good damage, and is swift enough to take any opportunities that arises before him quick enough. He has a great appearance, and he has scars, (Or one.) in his face to show he's been in battles. |

Sakon'a my 3rd favorite new character in SW 2, right after Kotaro and Musashi. Great moveset, probably the best special type in the game. I like his personality a lot, too. He's a smart-ass, but he doesn't take it to the point of being an a-hole, like Mitsunari does. My favorite part of his moveset is the ground sliceat the end of his C4. It reminds me of the King of Fighters character Geese, so whenever I use it, I always yell out: REBUKEN!! It's too bad he's not a charge type, because then he could have DOUBLE REBUKEN! |

I apologize in advance if there was already a character specific thread for Sakon. That being said, I felt the need to create a discussion topic for The Ronin Of Yamato most notably because I just finished bringing him up to level 70
Having used all of the SW characters save for Yoshimoto Imagawa and Mr. Devil Shibata himself, Katsuie, I have to say that I find Sakon to be in the upper echelon of the entire roster. I'd go as far as to say that he's in the top 5. Why/How? Moveset C1 - One of the best guard breaking C1s in the game bar-none. It not only allows you to start attacking, it allows you to combo off of it! Great damage + a combo set-up --- what's not to love? C2 - Unlike most of the special type or charge type characters' C2s where they go up in the air as they launch their targets, Sakon stays on the ground inflicting damage on the target officer and everyone within a specific radius. C3 - Excellent officer killer and an equally great follow up to the C1 guard break. In addition to the great damage this provides, the final hit (when he slams his weapon on the ground) affects those around him and activates the weapon's element. C4 - One of the best crowd clearing moves in the game. 'Nuff said. Well, one can add that the last hit (air wave going forward) also damages opponents that are knocked down. C5 - Although I don't use this move much (because I'm still not used to him having it), it does have it's charms in that it activates his special. And speaking of....... R1 Specials R1 + Triangle x 3 - Sakon warns his opponents to watch themselves while he calls for a barrage of gunfire. In a word, this special is absolutely broken. Initially I thought that you just get additional crowd clearing or guard breaking but it appears that Sakon also gets buffed upon activating this special! This makes dispatching enemy officers (yes, even you Tadakatsu) a breeze! In most cases, once you have the cover of fire out, you don't even have to bother using C1 to break your opponent's guard as the barrage will do it for you. The other special I don't really have a use for. Kojiro has something similar and is leagues better since he (Kojiro) can make the field materialize much faster (by way of his C8) and follows up with an elemental slash for added damage and a potential Musou starter. Now as far as Sakon's Musou is concerned, it's not super good but you can think of it as a much, much better version of Mitsuhide's and Yukimura's Musou attacks. With Awakening 2 or 3, you can activate his R1 + T x 3 -> C3 -> activate Musou for massive damage. Or, you can just let loose with the Musou by itself, though it's recommended that you have your opponent by a wall so as not to allow them to recover and block. Weapon Come on now, what's not to love about a huge sword? There you have it. That's my take on the "Battlefield Genius". I'm sure he has some cons so feel free to bring them up. I'd probably like Sakon more if he had a different costume :lol: :ph43r: |
