*Merged with existing Sakon topic* Nice detailed post you have there! Well, I certainly consider him one of the best in the game, and he is indeed my fav character of everyone in SW2. I quite like his Elvis style personality and his movesets. His R1 cover fire tactic is simply deadly, that alone can even take down powerful officers. Add that with excellent C3 & C4 moves he is certainly one of the more useful characters in the game. |

Ah, one of my absolute favorites. Sakon is very confident in his skills and has a right to be. Yes, in the end he isn't enough to prevail against the East, but still you have to respect the guy. He's funny, strong, smart, and competent with a great MS and weapon. His appearance is also pretty unique, though like many other characters any hint of him being Japanese is totally lost on me,

Hmm.. Sakon's new charge in SW2XL does send units back flying when the slash hits after the fire bombardment. It sends them back really far. His C4 is still broken and his C3 is the best move with ice, but I prefer him with lightning. And there's no need to say how useful his second special is now... |

Oaky, i vote for AWESOME, STRONG, AND GOOD PERSONALITY I havent tried his C5, so i cant give any comment for his moveset He has good personality, because he has a sense of humor

He was one of the best characters that debuted in SW2 along with Nagamasa gameplay-wise, His movesets quirks our his charge attacks from C2-C4, his C4 being Kenshin's with a followup, his C1 is good for single officer-killing but it does miss like all grab attacks, his new C5 is a faster way of calling cover-fire and sends the enemy a distance with the sword slash, not a bad new charge. As personality goes, he has a good sense of humor and Elvis personality are pretty memorable. What I wonder is when you use his R1 Cover-Fire move to maximum, an aura surrounds him, what it does I don't know. |

one of the dullest characters KOEI has ever developed, imo. he's just a cut-and-paste of quite a few other characters. the best thing i can say about Sakon, is that cover-fire special is brilliant. |

Oh well, Sakon can't please everyone. Although I definitely agree his Cover Fire alone is one of the things that help separate him from the rest. When I use Sakon I use that, and his C4 most of the time, just two very effective moves to use.

Imo, Sakon is one of my favorite characters, has a likeable personality(that witty response to Tadakatsu just made me like him more). Moveset-wise, im not so "pro" about that but i gotta say his charge are all round useful. And Cover Fire FTW

part Fu Xi, a bit of Guan Ping, a dash of Cloud Strife with Zhou Yu's strategist impassivity meshed with the lounge singer/Elvis impersonator VA just make a odd patchwork character for me. and i don't like giant swords. i used him in SW2 to complete his Musou and leveled him to 50, but he just did not hold my interest. Fayt: i was a bit dismissive last night, i apologize for any offense. i did enjoy his special, but he just was'nt a character who worked well for me, nor was i particularly any good at using him. |

As soon as the KW updated the 'Character guide' to SW2 I liked Sakon's appearance and overall design. I then bought the game when it was released and did Ishida Mitsunari's story to unlock Sakon. I then did Sakon's story,got up to 'Kusegawa' and saw Sasaki Kojiro. Well....Kojiro kinda took Sakon's place as my favourite. But I still like Sakon.He has one of the best Personality's on the game and a awesome weapon. Great strategist and Great character. |

Damn i didnt notice that till you said it, but still he is a nice add to the game and all. Any particular reason for disliking big swords (not trying to tell you to like them, im just curious)  Plus that afromentioned Elvis personality can be kind of fun

Sakon Shima..how do I rate him.... First he has a BIG HACKING BLADE. That alone is a plus for me as I'm a fan of big swords, and his moveset is a real fast one which adds to the bonus of it. Definately my top 3 in SW2. (and top 15 in WO as I can't decide who are my favorite, so many to choose from @_@) His story mode is ok IMO, I can't really remember what it was but I had no qualms with it. His personality is kinda Elvis as we all know but I'm sure KOEI would better him up come SW3.

i suppose it's situational. i really like both incarnations of Fu Xi. and i suppose that i had expectations of Sakon being a more traditional Samurai figure, don't really know what would suit him better weapon-wise? on a positive note i did like his character portrayal more in the WO series. |

Nope, it's certainly one of Sakons: "Thank you, thank you very much" - he usually says that when reinforcements arrive iirc. At foomin, I guess I see where you are coming from. Although, in all honesty with the amount of game characters out there everyone is going to be similar to someone in someway along the lines. From my basic knowledge of Sengoku there is not that much known of Sakon, so I think that allows KOEI to have a bit of freedom with his character, I for one certainly love it. The Elvis persona is awesome imo, his sarcastic comments and light humor, but he also shows great loyalty to Mitsunari. I even remember the small scene in Empires where he is apparently playing some musical instrument just to get Mitsunari's attention away from working so much to tell him it sucks - all so Mitsunari would smile and laugh for a moment.

Geh... a big sword is the only parallel I see between Sakon and Guan Ping and... Cloud? Jeez, that guy isn't even the first to wield a big sword. Personalities are so drastically different it makes Ping and Cloud look like boring emo kids. Fu Xi(not bland cookiecutter generic Fu Xi from DW3) is more a copy of Sakon as my experience with Orochi 2 has shown. |

He's totally one of my male favorites. He has attacks like C4, C3, and C2 that are cool to use. His voice was kinda alright. In SW2XL I used his R1 triangle the third and defeat officers. |

I'm just starting to play with him, kinda left him off on the sidelines for a long time, but I think I can grow to like him more. Not that I disliked him before, just haven't spent a lot of time with him. |

Well..atually I pretty confused to choose for him...his moveset is okay..it's comfortable to play..But, I sometimes don't like his personality which he always flirting girls..Ina, specially...But sometimes it's funny as well..So, okay, I think.. But his attitude and most of his personality just like Mitsunari's (Mine as well) and that makes me like this character as well..He is one of Mitsunari's best friend, though.. |
