In the original, it was easily Mitsunari with his R1. It was quick, wide, and overall very powerful. Unforunately, that all got the boot in Warriors Orochi 2 when the attack became slower to execute, using more Musou, and it was nerfed to become not as damaging. In the second game, it's easily Sun Wukong. As a speed-type character and with his movement speed, he can flee from a big group. With maximized Range, Flash, Might, and Bolt on his fourth weapon, Sun Wukong's C4 becomes unstoppable. It has 360 degree reach, the attack practically takes up the whole screen, and add to that he can cancel the attack by jumping so the player can use the charge, defeat all the enemies in its range, and quickly cancel the attack and (double) jump to use on another crowd.. |

These are some of my best crowd clearers. Mitsunari--Spam his R1 and you're good to go. Granted, it's pretty cheap to do that, but hey, it works. And that R1 attack is, to me, slightly better than his normal moveset. Himiko-- Her attacks are perfect for range. Almost every one involves shooting out beams of light in long directions. And when using her R1, you're able to shoot multiple beams at once. Sun Wukong-- With his speed and quick movements, it's easy to wipe out large amounts of peons quickly. |

question regarding crowd clearing: why do all the AoE attacks seem to have an extremely small range? i play on PC with 1024x800 resolution and hit detection is extremely bad. that said, nobunaga was the first guy i played and just love his C3 combo ripping peons apart. orochi has probably the widest spread out of everyone, making him really great if you can get it off. ling tong is so fast that he can spam his C4 (i forget which one his heel drop is, C3 or C4) and rip through anything. |

I have to wonder if they balanced the PC version a bit more before release ... Use Mitsunari and his Directional Special attack (not sure of PC button configuration). It was extremely overpowered in the PS2 & PSP versions and had a large AoE. Also, if there was no balancing, some of the attack hit-boxes were altered if a character had too much Agility equipped on their weapon. |

i know there was some bug regarding agility, but the characters in question had no agility on their weapons, and at the same time no range bonuses either. does 10 range seriously make that big a difference? orochi had almost no range bonus and his AoE was by far the only one that seemed to actually hit everything in it. everyone else is more or less a game of luck of hitting people 3 feet in front of you... |

Hmm, I don't remember range being all that effective, but it has been awhile. Orochi's hit-box on his attacks is ridiculous. The only move of his that is worthless for AoE is his special attack, but who even needs it with that 1st charge attack of his

Xiao Qiao is by far the best crowd clearer. Her C4 is bi-directional. Has 360 degree coverage with Range 10, and can pull troops towards her in the center for massive Bolt damage. |

Hmm. If I think about it, isn't this kind of a repeat of an already made topic? Only difference is the name. Anywho... Zuo Ci (That old guy is Ubertastic) Hanzo Hattori (You ALWAYS need a ninja somewhere) Zhou Tai (If you know how to use him, then you'll know what I mean) Taigong Wang (The guy who is full of himself, but still kicks butt) Musashi Miyamoto (The Greatest Swordsman, RAWR) |

I agree with Orochi being great for getting 4th weapons, all I have to do is be vigilant and not let him die. I think Musashi is a good crowd clearer, also Lu Bu and Da Ji. |

Himiko, I should think. She has a very wide range of attack, high attacl speed, and deals enough damage to quickly mow down mooks. Plus, if you activate her R1+L3 attack, she can deal massive damage. Ling Tong counts for similar reasons. Orochi is also great for crowd clearing. His triple charge attack is especially useful for facing archers Edited by Epic Score, Thu Jan 31, 2013 12:47 am.

Two year thread bump. If we're talking Warriors Orochi 3.... Xiahou Ba is an absolute monster. Thanks to his R1 and his long ranged EX, his damage, his range and his walking speed is crazy. Orochi X's R1 basically clears out all peons within a 75 meter radius of him. His C4 means he won't die, especially in the middle of a hostile crowd. Joan of Arc's R1's activates Osmosis and Absorption, so she can spam it with inpunity, and recharge her HP everytime. Not likely to kill generals, but crumples everything around her and let's her go back to attacking. Toshiie Meada is quite remarkable at mowing through crowds. C9 owns things, and he gets to C9 faster then you'd think. He also packs a very powerful R1 that has elements, so he can spam it forever (though he might get juggled afterwards). Mitsuhide and Nu Wa are both known as characters who can R1 spam to victory. And kill everything very quickly. Nu Wa can also Musou spam to victory. Finally, Wang Yuanji and Lianshi. Both have powerful long range attacks. Both are prone to getting mobbed, but if the peons are only coming from one direction... |

Fu Xi's C4 has incredible range and also a good 360 degree coverage. Not forgetting Susano'o's screen breaking R1. Ridiculous range and coverage, even carrying elemental attributes with it, enabling me to spam it like crazy. I don't like spamming attacks though... |

I'm also adding Guan Yu to the list. His charge attack deals very high damage (especially since it also deals fire damage, despite not adding the fire skill in his weapon slot), have enough range to toss three of Orochi's giant officers, at takes very short time to activate, unlike most of the other characters' charge attack. |
