Well, I was wondering, as I only have Dynasty Tactics 2.. is the first Dynatsy Tactics still worth getting would you say? I'm sure Dynatsy Tactics 2 is somewhat different to the first, but still unsure if the first is actually worth getting after playing the second?

I don't think it's worth it personally, although on the first, it is much more free, you get to see the whole map and it is possible to get officers that you really shouldn't be able to get with certain forces.

And there's no Lu Bu :(

Ahh I see, the whole fully viewable map thing sounds good. Maybe I'll pick this up if I find it cheap, though I played Dynasty Tactics 2 today, and got bored after 20 minutes, so maybe I shouldn't get this game at all, though would look good in my KOEI collection.

its an excellent game you should get it although i could get xiahou dun with Sun Quan while fighting Cao Cao and Cao Cao can have Zhao Yun Against Liu Bei
If there is one thing that I have learned it is that people often lack understanding. Instead of admitting this fault they wish to vehemently defend their ever growing precarious position and lastly attempt to make themselves into the victim. Ignorance is a plague to all people of the world and none are exempt, the only thing making the so called "intelligent" people intelligent is the work they put forth in investing their attentions to more worthy goals. There is nothing wrong or right with the world we live in, because there is no right or wrong. All are abstract ideas formed separately or in cooperation around the world to define the grounds for society, in the end none of it really matters.

You might have made a choice already GS. But not just the whole viewable map thing. You can always leave them in auto battle if you get bored like you said. (To who ever want's to get the game.)

DT 1 is harder and its harder to complete all the storylines because it doesnt come up with the options that you choose you have to do them yourself... for instance in DT 2 you get a multiple choice question and choose which path you take and in DT1 you dont get that... you have to work out how to get the different paths as you play so you have to do different things all the time... so personally i would get it

Yeah but gamewise its easier to beat the first. You get more freedom with what each officers can be troopwise (theres a much better mix) and when you capture a bulk of the officers they join on being captured which i liked better than having try and talk them into it. Thus with the seriously disadvantaged Shu troops you can straight away attempt to enlist Yue Jin to bolster your rota of capable officers (to heck with Sun Qian and his diplomacy  ).

I actually prefered the original and the only thing i really believed that the second had over its prequel were a Lu Bu storyline and Diao Chan as an officer.
