Basically in DW6, his quotes are all about it...nearly every single quotes. Guan Ping story in DW will probably stay most of them being fictional (his death with Guan Yu won't most likely be accepted as his musou mode ending). And I agree with Dongzhou that most of them just doesn't stand out and doesn't stand a chance to their fathers' fame. Unless Koei going to the route of fictional Musou Mode, they won't have enough story to cover for their storyline, I think. |

Odd though that of the children, it is the girl with no personality or battles that made the best pick so credit to koei for picking Xingcai. Would never have occurred to me Can't say if that is simply koei over the top or just they have no idea what to do. Ok, he can hate Wu obviously but in battles against others, vengeance should not be on his mind, nor should his father play too large part. I do wonder if they plan to make Ping and Xing Cai a love interest long terim, in which case make it a three way with Shan |

I think he should have a forbidden love type of story with Xing Cai. But overall, I like the two. Hell, I wouldn't mind playing as Liu Chan. I think it's cause Shu has only 1 generation of warriors. Wu: Sun Jian - Huang Gai, Sun Ce, Zhou Yu Sun Ce - Zhou Yu, Sun Quan, Huang Gai, Taishi Ci, Xiao Qiao, Da Qiao Sun Quan - Zhou Tai, Lu Xun, Lu Meng, Gan Ning, Ling Tong Wei - Cao Cao - Basically everyone Cao Pi - Sima Yi, Zhen Ji Shu - Liu Bei - Everyone Wu and Wei both have generation of warriors and rulers. I wish Shu was given the same treatment which they kind of did when Guan Ping and Xing Cai were introduced. And they were like the children of Shu who were to become great warriors. But hey, DW6 is basically like a reboot of the series, after they're done decloning all the characters; we might be able to see Zhang Bao, Guan Xing, Liu Chan. |

The problem for Shu is that, being the smallest kingdom it's options become limited quite quickly. Second generation possibles: Zhuge Liang, Wei Yan, Yue Ying, Jiang Wei, Xing Cai, Guan Ping (or other Guan/Zhang kids). They could go for Wang Ping, Zhang Yi, Ma Zhong, Ma Dai, Chen Shi, Liu Shan though the Ma's lack the personality. I suppose the problem for Shu is that Liang and Wei Yan feel more like 1st generation rather then 2nd generation |

I overall think Guan Ping is a pretty good character, I like his design and weapon in DW5, and the story doesn't seem to bad. Guan Ping was one of my favourites, and I liked his weapon name Young Dragon |

Guan Ping is a decent character. I do enjoy some of his moves that he can unleash with that big sword including his C3 and C6. I don't care for him in DW6 at all though. I guess it has to do with the fact that he didn't have his sword this time. I don't think the halberd is the right weapon him at all. I haven't even bother to level him up past level 10 in that game either. |

Just played him in DW6,and I say he's pretty awesome.Though I haven't played his other clone movesets, the halberd matches him(or is it just his costume) perfectly, though it still looks a bit too bulky for him. ...Though I do find his phrases annoying in DW6,as he mostly just talks about his |

I feel like complaining so I'm going to complain about Guan Ping, just because. Anyway, I liked this guy in DW5. Although he wouldn't actually be able to pick the sword up, I found him fun. He wasn't very technical which you wouldn't be with a sword like that, so I took to him. Then, DW6 came along. Now he sucks. He, along with DW6 Ma Chao (not Special or Empires) are the most dull. He has nothing really empowering with his Halberd and his design is . Such a little weed. Plus, I'm starting to feel some resentment towards him because Guan Yu's 'real' sons are going clone and they have some interesting history themselves. I wan't Guan Yu's real sons.

That's exactly what I meant. And it's only rumoured that Suo didn't really exist, there's a possibility he was. And Xing deserves 'some' recognition, not just adopted Ping. |

Guan Ping WAS his biological son, only in the novel was he adopted. Xing didn't do squat worthy of notice. Guan Suo would be a relatively cool add if we took material from folk stories and folklore from Chinese opera and such. I still say Ping should've been cut instead of Xing Cai. SO, you do learn something new everyday . Never knew was really biological. Should be shown NOT adopted, then I wouldn't look at him unfairly. But nooo, Xing Cai should be gone, she was a 'filler' character.

Not sure she was filler but meant to expand a few characters by her presence. Guan Ping, Liu Shan, Zhang Fei, maybe Zhao Yun, Xiahou Yuan and add another female presence to Shu who didn't really have many options on that front. Guan Xing might have been better add then Ping though, in the novel he fights Zhang Bao over vanguard position, was a mighty warrior who fights in a few battles while historically liked by Liang for obeying orders in the civil service (twist that to military for game purposes). Even then, Xing is not a great add but would have more flexibility then I feel Ping does Edited by Dongzhou, Jan 25 2009, 05:21 PM.

I like Guan Ping, his character doesn't bother me. But I only say this cause he is now in the game, and I have learned to deal with him. Even though the characters relevance never played a factor in my liking or disliking a character, I must say Guan Ping's relevance in comparison to Guan Xing is near zero. While I have nothing against Guan Ping, I really do think Guan Xing would've been a better add. Guan Ping gets adopted then dies at Fan Castle with daddy. The end. Where as Guan Xing would've possibly had a more compelling storyline, daddy is killed and he carries on his legacy, which means he can go further than Ping, past Fan Castle and still have material to use, at Yi Ling, whereas it all had to be made up with Ping. If Zhang Bao is added as well, even better. I don't mean to say Guan Ping should be removed, if Guan Xing's father and brother die at Fan Castle, even better for Xing's story. That's my opinion. Or everything about Guan Xing is given to Guan Ping. I personally like Guan Ping and since they added him. I don't think they're going to replace or add him with Guan Xing. They might add in Zhang Bao and have the two become friends. I liked his relationship with Xing Cai though. Edit: Guan Ping doesn't wield his big sword anymore. So comparing him to other characters with big swords isn't really fair since you're comparing him with another DW6 character. I don't think they're going to give him his big sword back anyway. Since they gave it to Ma Chao. Edited by Falangizzle, Jan 27 2009, 09:35 PM.

Of course, why would he get a new weapon on a DW6 expansion of some sort? Maybe, MAYBE in DW7...who knows. |

I seriously LOVE Guan Ping, even though he doesn't play a significant role in the game. Well, I mean, I only used him on DW6 and Warriors Orochi. I like his moveset, I LOVE his personality and, more than anything, I love his relationship with Xing Cai (even if History proves that when the Fan Castle campaign occurred, Xing Cai was still a kid). |
