OMG, haha they have Wiimotes, what a clever banner, even if Sakon is not on there. <_< I'll certainly be giving this a try once it's released; it's the only next gen system I have to date as well. |

Anyone notice Hideyoshi's voice? It sounds like his WO one. I liked that one! I hope it's in SW2XL. I don't plan on getting this game. It doesn't seem that good to me... |

I'm not seeing this banner Sakon was talking about ... but I thought it was funny on the site how Hanzo pops up on the top & the text reads: "Hanzo Hattori says Register For Samurai Warriors: Katana Updates" It would be funny if there was a voice activated when you move the mouse over him and he says in his SW voice "Register" I can seriously imagine his VA doing that  I noticed listening to the VAs in both English & Japanese that the JP voices seem to sound the same or very similar to previous actors, but the English ones don't (some of them at least). |

You're right. I think it suits him. I do have the game and have already beaten all 4 scenarios. For some reason, though, the 5th scenario, "Unification", did not unlock, but only a question mark box showed up in it's place. It says you just need to beat the first four on the official site Insp. Chin just posted, but it didn't. I'm just going back to improve my grades on some of the missions to see if I can unlock it. I really like the game. Some missions are brutal, but some are really short. Almost all of it is fun, though, and I love just doing the slashing motions for the sword's musou attacks. |

Mr.Honda, it's good that the site is funny with the funny tunes "Shikoku" because SWK is a funny game! You can ask MegaXtreme that Oichi summons the bunch of fat sumos out by just whistling lol! This game is like a comedy perhaps but it's totally different from the past SW games, this one is actually F-U-N! And more exercise lol... MX, hope you enjoyed with the horse riding and the crazy Musou attack with your nunchunk lol!! And I hope you can unlocked the "Unification" soon? Or maybe that "Unification" means the ending? Not sure though. *This game is more realistic as it involves the movement which makes you think you're really carrying a sword! I saw my friend playing it lol! |

Good to hear some positive feedback from those who have the game. If the budget will allow, I may get this game soon. I could always use the exercise  I keep hearing Hanzo say "Register" in my head

I just keep hearing him say "Register" based on his WO voice that says "Assist Me" in Wu 4-X (I just played it recently  ) or the one where he simply says "Perish" That and I think I almost have the entire Shikoku BGM memorized beat by beat From what MegaXtreme said, this game sounds like it will be fun & challenging at the same time. Swinging remote like a sword FTW.

I like how they're including SW2 XL musics in Katana, even though XL isn't out here yet
My game list priorities: No More Heroes, DW6, Brawl, Katana, Mario Kart (All are Wii except DW6) |

Nagamasa if you go to the site DOWNLOADS > VIDEOS you'll notice SWK has music from SW1, SW1XL, SW2, SW2XL and 3 or 4 new songs and they rock because they picked one of the theme in SW1 and got it remixed! Mr.Honda, Shikoku reminds me that Motochika Song --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpULtqhyC-0 in the middle line which near to the chorus is the lyrics saying "CHOUSOKABE MOTOCHIKA HEY!" lol! |

Yes, Oichi can summon strike ninjas (who am I kidding, their not ninjas, their sumo!) and they'll swarm you, but luckily, you can take them out in one blow as a weak spot pops up around their legs when they get close enough. You slash there and it's a one-hit kill, and if Oichi is right behind him, she takes a good bit of damage as well. It pays to time it just right. BTW, on the comedy thing, the entire 4th scenario is nothing but a joke. There isn't a serious part about it at all lol. It is a fun game, but your shoulder gets sore, trust me. I still haven't gotten "Unification" yet, but I hope so soon. And Mr.Honda, it is fun. It's a breath of fresh air knowing that Koei can do something a little different with their Warriors games and make it a truly "Wii" experience, one you can't get anywhere else. And the sword fighting beats Red Steel. Thinking of that game just makes my stomach churn .

Mr.Honda: That Motochika song was actually in the KW update a while ago on the main page and I said once it's flushed it'll be gone and no more lol! Luckily that video artist downloaded it and made the video so I can show you! Not sure bout Anegawa but there's Okehazama's SW1 remix when you first played the game. MegaXtreme:  OMG you must have six pack on your stomach now by playing this game and thanks for the explanation to Honda on how fun and funny this game is!! Oichi summons sumos by whistling that one is very classic!!! And we have FEMALE narrator this time around!! Also the JP voice option!!!

I still have to try the Japanese voice option, since all the voices are from Warriors Orochi, and they weren't exactly the best. And, yeah, no six pack  . |

OK, I've had the game for awhile, but haven't played it lately due to my purchase of a PS3. Sorry, Wii! I still love ya more, though.
If anyone has any questions regarding this title, feel free to ask. I know a lot are hesitant to buy it, so maybe I could help in your decision. |

If a DW version is made, it won't be DWK, but DWS, Dynasty Warriors: SWORD; or DWB (BLADE). Remember that Katana is a Japanese weapon. |

@BK: Do you think DW:BOW is the only Wii game KOEI is planning? Or do you think that they will have a first-person action in addition to the FPS? @ MegaXtreme: How are the Wii-mote controls? Does the remote respond well to movements for the different weapons? Is one weapon better than the other? I probably could think of a list of questions but will leave it at that for now.

The Wii remote is more responsive than I could've asked for. Koei did not gimp on the Wii controls and made them very responsive. The conrol layouts are the best they could've made them with the Wii's remote and nunchuk layout. The only control issue may be the stages where you get to roam around the battlefield like and actual FPS. They force you to use the control stick to move and turn Goldeneye-style, as there is no right analog stick. I guess Koei could've made the game register turns by bringing the cursor to the edge of the screen, but that would have been a poor idea, since it would force you to turn when in fact you may be aiming on a soldier on the end of the screen, thus missing your target. Luckily, it's not like that, so the single control stick works well for the game, even if it takes some getting used to. The best weapon depends on preference. I like the sword, because it's the funnest to use (I mean, come on, you get to slash like a real sword in virtually any direction and get to slash wildly in musou attacks. Why wouldn't it be the funnest?), it does good damage, and has good range when you do horizontal slashes, sending all enemies within range flying into other enemies, and the sword has decent range. The spear is also good, as it has a very long reach and can perform instant kills (not kidding ) by hitting "weak spots"indicated on enemies within range. If you can hit the enemy in the red weak spot, it's an instant death. It's perfect for dispatching enemies quickly, even if it can only hit 1-3 enemies at a time rather than a more wider range with the sword. Some enemies require you hit a yellow triangle that shows up on their armor. This is for armored enemies and if you can hit that spot, then the weak spot will pop up as if you just destroyed their armor, even if it doesn't look like it. If you happen to not hit the weak spot, it is still damaging, although it only hits maybe one or two enemies at a time, leaving you open to attack from enemies further to your right or left. Spears also make boss battles easier, thanks to the weak spots, as they inflict good damage. The spear musou is a continuous thrusting motion (think Nagamasa Azai's musou from Samurai Warriors 2. That's essentially what you do) and it's pretty fun, though not nearly as cool or satisfying as the sword's musou,The hammer is the third. The hammer, surprised me, as I thought it would be utter crap. That was my first impression, but upon revisiting old stages and accidentally leaving it equipped after playing a stage that required it ( the stage when you first get it), I wound up fighting a whole stage with it, and walked away satisfied since I was actually whipping butt with it. You can swing the hammer by pressing A to do standard downward motions for smashing the ground, and you hold A and do a "hammering" motion with your arm to smash the ground with great force, or swing it horizontally to send enemies flying. The hammer is very damaging, as you would probably believe (the thing is big ), but slow. The musou consists of hammering motions that continuously smash the ground, sending enemies flying. Slow, yet powerful, but STILL not as cool as the sword.Lastly is the crappiest weapon; the blades. The blades are four spikes on a spinning yo-yo thing, and you can sling it out there like one at enemies or in a sort of circular motion is you swing the remote left to right or vice versa. It's weak as hell, despite it's attack ratings, although it's spin motion can hit multiple times on one target, I found the thing utterly useless, as it just couldn't kill fast enough. So, for weapons, if you want to really feel immersed in the game and have fun, while also kicking butt, the sword is the weapon of choice. If you want quick kills and long reach, the spear does the job. If you want power and don't mind slow motions as long as it inflicts great damage, the hammer is it. If you want to suck horribly, the blades are for you, although I doubt anyone would fall under that category. My choice is the sword, because it's so freakin' fun to use and gets the job done, even if it takes more attacks than the spear and hammer. Anymore questions, feel free to ask more. If I'm being too elaborate, please tell me. I can tend to run on and on. |
