The reasons why you like KOEI's games?; Why do you like DW, SW, etc?

The reason is simple: music is great, characters are great, the game itself is repetitive but so much fun, at least here you can enjoy a good time without being frustrated «because you don't know where to go», and because KOEI writes you back when you have a question about a game or DLC content, they respect their fans and don't care about the critics as long as we're backing them (that's not the case of many company.....koff koff square enix koff koff). And lastly because each and every year I'm always excited to see what they'll do next (just imagine now what they would be able to do with tecmo...) and they never let me down a single time.

Swords, Spears, Halberds.... A variety of characters, movesets. More than just a 1 on 1 fighting game like Tekken etc. Thats what I like, Allied army v Enemy army, Huge fields of battles. Many soldiers on both sides. You dont get much of that on COD do u?

I love the historical setting and the personalities of the characters, as well as the gameplay. I just like the massive battles of the series and the different weapons and moves, koeis games have some of the best hack and slash gameplay out there

I love the theme, the upbuild characters, that shows mankinds heroic nature without dwelling on the negative aspects of the human condition. The games tend to be thoughful in nature, yet easy to play and grasp.

Without Koei games, I would have never learned about China's heroes of the Three Kingdoms, which led to buying books on the subject. Kudo's to Koei!!

It's somewhat hard to explain for me. As others said, the story, the characters, the music, the list goes on.

The main reason however, is that the game just seems to click with me. I don't know why, but the DW games are my perfect kind of game.

For me personally its the detail that goes into it, the outfits are so detailed and how each character has a story and the amount of work that goes into making them :)

They're just so old-school! They're like modernised, expanded versions of games like Streets of Rage and such. I just love the simplicity and the ease to get into the games. They're also just plain constant fun.

Plus, maybe some influence from my childhood has effect on me now liking it. I rented DW2 when I was a kid :D

Agreed. I love the simplicity of the gameplay as well as how expansive the stories and battles can be. It's awesome to have dozens of characters each with unique movesets, stories, and perspectives that all tie together.

I grew up playing games like final fight, streets of rage, etc and I can see the parallels with those types of side scrolling fighters.

It's easy to become attached to the characters once you really get into it.

Well I mainly like KOEI games cause you have the co-op system where you can be with someone else & gang up & hack n slash your opponents , another reason is the characters they have look really great , some games have hack n slash games have the crappy looking characters & gameplay.

Koei takes history and makes it interesting and fun.

Plus, there's lotsa swords and weaponry and sturf - I like sword and fist fights way more than gun/war games, anyway.

Go, Koei! Just remember what I've said in other posts, please (esp. the bits about characters' hair)!

:XD
Thank you, Cao Pi for this beautiful sig. :D

I too have a lot of reasons why I play DW and SW. For Starters, I'm a Hack n' Slash gamer. I love Monster Hunter, Phantasy Star Online and Untold Legends. This is why I fell in love with Dynasty Warriors 3 (First Koei game I played).

The Character design is simply remarkable. Although I miss Zhang Fei's Do rag in DW6, he's still as awesome as he ever was since DW3.

I love depiction of war, whether it be watching, playing or reading, any depiction of battles and struggles is my kind of entertainment. I also love histroy, I became even more interested when I heard DW was based on a Chinese historical novel. Same with SW which was based on the Sengoku period of Japan.

What I loved most were the personalities of every individual character. The morals they followed, their ambition and resolve and the honor they portrayed, these factors led to plots and events and as the drama unfolds, I am in awe of the outcome.

Possibly because there aren't too many other games that are as fun as Koei's games. Other than Devil Kings/ Sengoku Basara, I find that Koei's games are seemingly pretty unique games but if there is one definite thing that makes it likeable for me, it is the battles; I am definitely a sucker for games with big battles and sometimes, the battles in Koei's games can get pretty big.

Simple.

Wrecking havoc and murdering 50 peons with one attack makes my day. The music gets me pumped to murder even more, and also the history and the storylines grab my fullest attention.

I like the historical setting. History is more interesting when your given a chance to simulate it and kill 20 people in one hit.

Character interaction for the most part, especially in WO and in older games. Not so much of a fan of the gameplay anymore :/

I got into the series mostly because of the history
I would have never known the 3 kingdoms period would've existed without the Dw series, or the Sengoku period without SW!

What keeps me hooked is the simplicity of the game

It's like a history lesson made 10 times fun!
