Hello there. I've been thinking on this for a while now, and debating with some friends of mine on this subject for the last month, which is of the growing darkness we are seeing in the world. Here is a starter for you below. ---- Quite a few of these signs could point to an Economic Downfall, though I could be wrong, as I'm still gaining knowledge. Compairing todays trends in gas prices, and the ever increasing fees for all manner of things, from home morgage and food and the likes, to what happened in older days of history. Eras like in Pre-WWII Germany, which put the country into drastic termoil, and lead to their Economic Downfall. They had hardly any money in the hands of their people, and the prices grew, so that companys, and the goverment could gain more money. This trend continued until there was nothing really left of Germany's economy. Another example is of the Great Depression here in the USA. The prices raised quickly, much as they are now, and continued until the Economy could no longer take the vast strain, and collapsed into itself, causeing great and terrible suffering throughout the whole of America, and some say even the World. Then there are also the natural disasters that have been accuring as of late, indeed in the last few years. They are growing worse and more frequent, claiming more and more lives each time. From Hurrican Katrina, to the Tsunami that shocked the Eastern World. And lastly, is the onset of Warfare. With the great amount of termoil caused by such events, the path of War is opened. These sort of things have cause many dark and blood-stained days. From the Nazi using it to gain power, and set forth on their road to World Domination, and let's not forget of the raids and attacks of the Conquerors of Old, The attacks against the Aztec and the Battles caused during the unification of lands like Europe, Japan, and China. The World is on the road to ruin. With the growing prices have come War, Death, and Desease. These dark turn of events cannot be a meer fluke, Prices raising, and indeed things before then, have set into play a path that is not stopable without drastic change. Maybe it's a sign from a Higher Power, maybe it's a sign of the earth dieing, or a sign humanity reaching it's peak. Either way, humans have set this forth, but to where it will go, and most importantly, what it means, people can only wonder. ---- I myself find this very predictable, and I've seen it coming. I believe the world is going to ruin from this, and that a greater, more deadly war than anything ever seen is coming. It is something that's been in the works for centuries, and now it is coming to a boiling point. All I can do now is wait, and try my hardest to stick to my Faith. Now, I ask you all, what do you believe? |

Well for one thing, the prices of metals such as aluminium are booming. oil is growing scarcer, so alternate forms of energy may be researched in the future. I'm an Atheist, so the "sign from a higher power" theory that you put forth is bunkum. Humanity has always "bounced back" from potential ends to to the existence of humanity. The Black Death is a perfect example of this, it led to changes in personal hygiene throughout Europe and it eventually led to the Renaissance. Half of what could have gone badly in human history has happened, while the other half hasn't. Natural disasters, ie the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina are probably the Earth changing. The Maya believe that the world will end on the 21/12/12, ie the 21st of the 12th 2012, but I'm going to wait and see if the Maya were actually right in that prediction. Why the doomsday stuff all of sudden GA? |

Aye, you put forth good points on that. Well, the whole dooms day thing is something I've been debating with my friends for the last month, as I said above. However I only really put it up as I see it as an interesting topic, that can be very thought prevoking. And I do feel like a war is coming. The worst in history maybe, but I have a bad feeling ya know? |

A lot of countries have nuclear capability and if a war breaks out, most likely the highly feared World War III, there's a high chance that much of humanity is screwed or a new Dark Age happens. Therefore, I am crossing my fingers and hoping that World War III does not happen. If it does, however, I have a feeling that Ireland's probably going to be caught in the middle. it's either a nuclear war or global warming. How a bad a war are we talking about? WWIII or worse? The prices of commodities have gone quite a bit. |

Hmm... not sure how large scale of a war is coming, I just know one is. I may be wrong, because I can't see the future, I just have a feeling like I did right before 9/11 happened. What I do know is that the current trends of the world are pushing towards something very violent, and quite possiblie globe killing. I mean for instance in Isra'el, one of the smallest nations in the world, and it is the center of alot of tension. There are growing tensions in the EU last I checked as well, with many telling me that it's getting bad, riots are starting up around the world also. And the number of... border disputes are increasing. I also saw something in one of the news articales a bit back of Russian soldiers seen practicing invasion drills down in Mexico, though I'm not sure on that, but you never know. There are alot of odd things going down for something big not to happen. And I think that the elections for the US coming up are going to have a major play in it. I just hope and pray I'm wrong. Any way, what do you others think? Red Knight is giving good points, so what do others think? |

So far, there's nothing really worth me worrying right now. The only issue that brings me into thinking is global warming. Other major events or conflicts that can happen leading to a big change of events in the world- 1. If Taiwan declares independence from China war will erupt. 2. If North Korea all of a sudden fire some nukes at Japan or U.S.[But that is unlikely since recent news indicated N.Korea is currently on its road to peaceful negotiations with the U.S.] That's all I can think of right now, I might have more in the future event. |

You could probably had some financial depression onto that list Sun, and of course there's always the natural disasters that occur. Other things include Super Bugs (I.e. Virus's and Bacteria resillient to the cures). I add Aid's on that list too, as it has unfortunately run rampant in some of the more misfortunate countries. |

The Depression was the result of a stock market crash, not a dramatic rise in prices. Prices naturally regulate themselves via supply and demand, and therefore a business will generally bankrupt itself long before its prices become high enough to negatively affect society. Also, Weimar Germany's collapse was the result of stagnation and mass unemployment, not to mention the punishments imposed on the country by the victorious Allies. Again, prices were a symptom and not a cause. WW3 is a long ways off. As it stands now, American arms are so dominant, and large armies are so scarce, that a large conventional war like WW2 is nowhere on the horizon. European armies, with the possible exception of the British forces, are small and seem to be lacking in martial spirit (the French military, for example, has a union to represent soldiers). The Middle Eastern nations war amongst themselves more than they do against us, and they don't fight conventional wars anyway. Africa is a vacuum, the Orient has largely resigned itself to making money in peace. Central Asia lacks the manpower and technology to field large forces on a global scale. In other words, who is there to fight WW3? |
![]() O xien angellein Lakedaimoniois hoti tede Keimetha tois keinon rhemasi peithomenoi Hojo Ujiteru WAR Stat: 71 Bio: Ujiteru was the brother of Ujimasa and son of Ujiyasu. During the battle of Mimasetoge, Ujiteru nearly stopped Takeda Shingen and the Takeda forces from returning to Kai after attacking Odawara. He was forced to commit seppuku after Odawara fell to Hideyoshi. Perk: Grand Chance (When an enemy is attempting to retreat or run to a different location other than the battle, Ujiteru's speed and morale exponentially increase.) Grand Defense: When this skill is used, Ujiteru summons an iron wall to block projectile attacks for one turn. Grand Extradionare: Ujiteru may use this skill to automatically appear anywhere on the field (sans buildings and structures) and increase morale. | |

As for financial problems I wont be adding that to the list, since I'm looking at things on a global scale. Not just the U.S or a few other countries. |

I think issues with nuclear weapons, bad diplomacy, environmental concerns, and dictatorship are more of a problem of the world today. I kind of agree with Harry's assumptions about the economy. |
