How did you find out about Samurai Warriors?

Sergeant Posts: 22 Group: Members Member #8,561 Joined: July 16, 2007	When i first got my PS2 in i think october 2004 my freinds would come over and bring some games. one of them always brought Samurai Warriors and it was probably the game we played the most. so eventually i bought the game and then bought Samurai Warriors 2 and Empires and plan to get SW2XL.

I thought it was pretty cool and not so much of a rip off due to its Japanese History and i finally bought it

I recognized the Warriors part of the title and decided to give it a shot. I liked the change of time period and culture so I bought the second one when it came out. (XL never came out here)

As for finding out about SW, a good friend had always wanted to try DW 5 which I had owned. From that, he let me try SW, and I as hooked for life.

私は, 思い出にはならないさ Posts: 670 Group: Members Member #8,444 Joined: July 11, 2007 Gender Male	I saw an advertisement for Samurai Warriors in an issue of Game Informer (can't remember which one), and I thought, this game kinda looks a little similar to Dynasty Warriors (not just because of the title); but then I saw the Koei logo on the bottom of the page, so I thought, that's why. So... yeah, that's how I found out about Samurai Warriors, and now, with the exeption of Dynasty Warriors 6, I preffer Samurai Warriors over Dynasty Warriors (again, just for the time being until DW6 arrives in America).

Not heeding such advice, I got it anyway, and played it. Didn't find it originally as impacting as DW4 Empires was, but then I started looking at info about Sengoku Musou 2, and came across Inahime. INSTANT WUB. Then I found out she was in SW1XL. Got that, and not only did I have four new characters I liked most than the original cast, but some gameplay issues I had with SW1 went away! Then, with SW2, my fandom was cemented. Ina-chiiiiiiiiin~

Since then, I have purchased Samurai Warriors, Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends, Samurai Warriors 2, and Samurai Warriors 2 Empires. I am eagerly awaiting Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends!

But I played Devil Kings/Sengoku Basara first before SW (becos of X-play's review/preview). Strange eh? ^^; In one of my internet profiles I refused to put my favourite game as Devil Kings but Sengoku Basara instead. Then someone asked me "Is Sengoku Basara similar to Sengoku Musou?". I replied "What is Sengoku Musou?" LOL. Then my sister informed me that Sengoku Musou is the Japanese name for SW! I found out that Devil Kings is based on the Japanese history, and the real names behind their altered English names. And that leads to SW which also used legendary Japanese warriors as the characters. Interested, I bought the game.

Same here! I know the games exist but not interested in Japanese history/stories until I played Kessen III and got really interested in Nubunaga, Mitsuhide and Kicho so decided to try SW2 (since it have similar title and gameplay to DW, why not?) And partly due to WO as well... I was checking the net looking for new DW games but found Musou Orochi instead. Knowing that it combines the characters from DW5 and SW2+3 from SW I looked forward to its release in PAL regions and while I was waiting I decided to try to play SW2 to get to know more about SW characters before playing the big one

I knew that i would be completely lost in orochi if i didnt since i only had DW. I got SW2 2 weeks before WO came out and somehow managed it.

Lord Cao Pi is Mine!<3 Posts: 101 Group: Members Member #10,626 Joined: October 26, 2007	I was walking then I saw Okuni in big poster for SW1, then I bought it, at first I thought Okuni was the main character not Yukimura and Kunoichi, but then I played with her, when I found out that SW2 Has new characters I fell in love with Ginchiyo Tachibana and Mitsunari like crazy! then I turned into a sw and dw freak!
