A friend of mine online talked me into getting the game. If he never had talked me in the first place about it, I would've never been interested in getting it. Now thanks to that game, it got me hooked on Warriors Orochi as well.

Wow, some pretty interesting stories lol. Well after I fell in love with the DW series after playing a demo one day, I decided to look for any new DW games.. but instead at this huge mall I went to I found Samurai Warriors (and being more interested in the Warring states era, I just had to buy it lol). I love the SW series as much, if not more than DW :P

It was before it's release at the GameStop store I visit. I remember going in there buying a magazine, coming back home and reading about Koei's new game release on March 2004! After I got it I was really thrilled. I played it and I enjoyed it so much I was on it for hours each day.

Actually it was my freshman year of college, before Samurai Warriors 1 came out. G4 and a bunch of game developers set up a big gaming station in front of the student center.

They had a bunch of games like Far Cry, America's Army, a bunch of EA games, and finally they had Samurai Warriors on display. Lucky for me there was no line for SW because everyone was interested in Halo and America's Army, so I got as much time as I wanted with the demo. Which if I remember correct, was Mikatagahara as Yukimura, and a castle level as Hanzo.

Needless to say, I was instantly hooked, and that summer I took some of my summer job money and bought it.

This actually got me interested in Dynasty Warriors as well, but SW is still King to me :P

I think I got into SW when I was look through a DW booklet and I saw SW and I liked it and bought it. Now me only being 7 at the time (I think...) didn't like it cause I got confused a lot! XD So I returned it. Then I got back into it when I play WO cause I liked the SW characters. That's when I bought SW2 off eBay. Now I'm getting SW1 and SW1XL off eBay too! ^_^ whee!

I found out about when my cousin played it and I liked, well mainly because of how 'cute' Yoshimoto looked...

I saw an add for it in one of the Game Informer issues, and then I saw a trailer for it in one of the Dynasty Warriors games.

Me and my best friend love co-op games(a dying genre) and I'm always looking for those types in games stores. I saw SW1 and looked on the back of the casing.

I've been in love with koei games ever since =p.

A friend and myself traded games. Never played a Dynasty Warriors. So we I gave him dynasty Warriors 5 and let me have Samurai Warriors. The trade became indefinite when I fell in love with the game.

I was playing the DW series at the time and for some reason must of been a bit skeptical about purchasing Samurai Warriors, since I was aware that it was from KOEI as well. It was only until 1-2 years later, I think, that I bought both the first and Xtreme Legends at once. I didn't play XL until after doing everything on SW first, though. I also didn't know what to expect when first playing the starting stages. But later would turn into a fan of the series since it was the same hack n' slash as Dynasty Warriors.

At the point I had no idea what the game had to offer, I never had the Internet, and couldn't find out in the magazines due to it being unpopular and neglected to just a small image or two.

Y'know....that's just how I felt.
So, I guess there wouldn't be any point in explaining it, now is there? ^_^

I was in a game shop & they were advertising the release of SW2 in a few weeks time. I noticed it was made by Koei & I was really interested in the game. I hadn't even played the first one yet, but luckily they had a copy at the shop. I played the game, bought SW2 a few weeks later & have loved the series since! :D

I saw it at my local video store when it first came out. I always wanted to try it but I never bothered renting it. So then one day I was looking through games to buy, and SW popped up again. I did some research and found out that it was almost exactly like DW, so I was hooked before I even bought it.

Well I bought it, and I was extremely disappointed. I didn't like it very much at all. So I stopped playing it and put it away. I decided to give it another chance, and I beat a couple story modes, but I still didn't like it. I traded it to my brother, who loved it. I decided to borrow it from him so I could give it another chance. I guess the 3rd time's the charm, lol. I started to enjoy it. Very much actually. So I traded back and the rest is history.

Saw it at the local Wal-Mart but paid it no attention. Was on koei.com looking up somthing on DW4XL and saw the page on SW, the moment I saw Hattori Hanzo I bought it the next day.

Seeing him took me back to my Samurai Showdown days ^_^

For me, it was because of an livejournal RP.

I've been a DW fan for yeeears, but never even knew about SW until I met a Ranmaru RPer. Her Ranmaru was so good that I got interested in the game, and went out and got it.
