- Self-proclaimed Koei newb -

Ah, I remember it well... it was at the local Hollywood Video, I actually happened upon it by chance. I had gone there to rent a different game I think - ironically what that title was escapes me. but whatever it was, it wasn't in stock. Well, I didn't want to waste my Mom's time and gas money, so I went trolling around looking for something else to pick up, then I saw I think the only copy of SW they had on the bottom shelf of the rack, kind of in a corner. I saw it was from Koei - same people who had made Mystic Heroes (my first Koei game experience) and i was like "Yay! looks sort of like the "grown-up" version of mystic heroes!" lol so I picked it up. and the rest is history! XD good times...good times...lol oddly, I actually was intimidated by how much harder it was than mystic heroes and I hardly played it for the duration that I had it rented for. but sometime after that, we got the internet, and seeing that I could find help online, I bought the game and that's when I really became a fan, and learned that it was in fact based on real Sengoku history. ^^ Edited by SkyGateCreations, Tue Dec 15, 2009 3:46 am.

I knew about dynasty warriors randomly from my brother (dw2) and from there i loved the warrior titles, after a few months of playing dw, i found sw1 while looking for other games randomly at the game shop... I was like :O awesome :O a new warriors title.. so i got it ^^... i dident like it staight away.. i thought it was ok but i stayed with dw.. but then i got drawn back to sw one day randomly lol.. and then i got sw2 and then it turned into my fav of the 2 series :).. Everything i ever do is pure random ^^. -Edit- This post needed fixing xD Edited by Joetri10, Tue May 11, 2010 10:03 pm.

I remembered going to Koei's website around the time SW1 came out and looked it up but I wasn't too keen about it thinking 'it's probably just Dynasty Warriors in Japan' (shame on me) a couple years later my brother came home from GameStop with SW1 and I watched him play it and thought it was cool but I didn't start playing the series until several months ago and loved it. I immediatly got SW2 afterward and fell in love with the series and the history

I was a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors 3 and showed it to a friend. Some time later he mailed me the trailer for Samurai Warriors. At first I thought: "Meh, don't want SW, want another DW!" But I rented it anyways to try it out. Well, today I like Samurai Warriors even more than Dynasty Warriors

I used to check Koei's official site regularly and eventually found out about it. I'm more of SW fan than DW but I like them both :p |

I first heard of SW when my sister brought her PSP over, which she was playing State of War on. She insisted I try it. I really didn't want to, but eventually I did. I first played as Oichi, if I remember correctly. But I really started getting into it when playing as Okuni, because she was a total awesome beast for me. And now the SW games are some of my favorites. |

I went to a friends house, to hang out, and to play some video games and such, and he said to me, "Hey dude, come to the computer room, I have something to show you". So I was thinking to myself, what could he possibly have to show me? So I made my way into his Computer Room, and then sat in this chair not too far away from his computer, and he said, "You know your favorite company Koei?" I said to him, "Sure do. There awesome". Then he said, "Well check this out, it's a new game there making, and it sort of looks like Dynasty Warriors, but alittle differently." So as I was watching it, I seen Mitsuhide Akechi's health bar in the red, and then he did his True Musou Attack, and the second I seen that, my jaw dropped! Literally! And the rest is history....... ![]() I still play Samurai Warriors One, to this day. As well as Samurai Warriors Two, with the Xtreme Legends Content. (Xbox Three-Sixty)

Via a magazine devoted to video games (PlayStation2 Magazine, I think). There was a page devoted to advertising Samurai Warriors 1 with a top Kunoichi and Mitsuhide. Dynasty Warriors I already knew at the time and I told myself that I had to buy me this game when it came out.

Went to BlockBuster when the first game was still new. A friend and I rented it for Xbox due to the multiplayer promise, and we promptly beat it with just about everyone. I fell deeply in love with Oichi, Okuni, Noh, and Nobunaga, while he fell for Mitsuhide, Ranmaru, and Hanzo. After playing that game, I bought it for PS2, and then introduced myself to Dynasty Warriors, and, well...I'll always think Samurai is better. Way better. |

Friends one day had been talking about it (about 2 months ago) while I was talking about Sengoku BASARA and were pushing me to try it out with "It's pretty much the same, trust us 8D" So I decided to google the series up and figured "Hey why not. It is pretty much like BASARA only less over-the-top flashy and more characters." About a week or so after that, I walked down to the GameStop near my house and found SW1 and SW2: Empires and been hooked ever since. |
