i found out about it because my gf at the time of its release was part Japanese and i was always fascinated by swords and pole arms so i started looking into games based on Feudal Japan and came across this and Onimusha. those were the two big ones that caught my eye. so i picked em both up and havent stopped playing Capcom Japanese games or Koei games since.

I was in a game store and then just saw SW there. Noticed it was Koei's product and looked similiar to DW, so I decided to give it a try since it wasn't expensive.

I made one of the best choices in my life, literally. Since the very first time I played SW, it was became one of my favorite games, and I've been following the series since. :shifty:

My father returned home with some used games for me one day. About year 2004 when the first installment of Samurai Warriors was released. I actually didn't know about DW before a friend told me about the similarity between SW and DW :P

When I first bought Metroid Other M, one of the pamphlets inside had a "check out these other games." SW3 was included. Out of curiousity (as I had played Mystic Heroes on the GCN) I ordered it off Amazon.

Honestly, I learned about the existence of this series on the internet like some of you here. At first, it didn't really interest me all that much since I wasn't very fascinated with Japanese history at the time. But after playing it a few times, I've become quite intrigued by the many famous figures of the Sengoku era. Sure, the developers might have portrayed them as more idealistic than their real-life counterparts, but it's all in the name of inspiration, I guess.

Mine is quite a story lmao.

When I used to live in the Philippines, my mum came home from the UK and she got me the PS2 (2004) and I only had a couple of games - This is Rugby and Reign of Fire. I didnt like the games so I told mum to get me some new ones, and I told her I dont mind what games she gets. So she went to the mall and she got me a couple of new games, Samurai Warriors being one of them.

After that I got hooked to it, I then started looking at the internet looking for similar games and found Dynasty Warriors 3.

So thats how I got hooked to KOEI games. Thanks to my lovely mum for buying such a random game

Strangely I got into Samurai Warriors when I started playing Warriors Orochi. Nobunaga, Hanzo, and Kunoichi got me hooked.

I played a DW that my friend had. After that I googled and found out about SW. I haven't played many KOEI games, but I'm very interested in DW and SW.

Way back in '04, my local Best Buy had some chairs and a TV with a PS2 where they were advertising a wireless PS2 controller. It had SW1, and I played it. I rented it once, loved it, forgot about it, then after playing Orochi in about '07, my interest went up, and I finally decided to get 1, 2, and 2 Empires a couple years after.

I don't remember exactly, but I found out by playing my cousin's copy of Samurai Warriors back in early 2000s, I believe.

Well, one day back in high school, I took my best friend to a friends house because they had to do a project. He handed me his PSP that had Dynasty Warriors on it. I was instantly hooked and in the next couple of days I bought DW4. About maybe two months later I was browsing GameStop and finding pretty much nothing that interested me at the time, until I saw SW1. I looked at it and saw it was made by Koei so I bought it and took it home. Again, instantly hooked and it became my favorite series!
