I'm pretty sure I got it for Christmas several years ago. At first, my brother and I were skeptical but as soon as I put it in the PS2 and turned it on, I was in love. He liked it at first... and then I started to get mad awesome and outplay him. He lost interest and, to this day, still refuses to play against me. XD

A friend gave me Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends because he didn't like. So I kept playing the other ones, thats how I also discovered Dynasty Warriors, then Warriors Orochi.

I saw it in an ad on one other Koei game back then when I didn't have a PS2, a lot later on I was asked to list some games when some games weren't available(I forgot what) I got Samurai Warriors and the Xtreme Legend pack and decided to load the Xtreme Legend pack up.

On the Dynasty Warriors 5 disk there was a trailer of Samurai Warriors Extreme Legends. I thought: DW like game set in medieval Japan! How cool is that!

Long story short. Went to buy it. Found SW2. Bought. Enjoyed it. Still have it.

I remember, I was on Nintendo Channel (back when the E3 trailer was on it) and looked at it, me and my brother were ecstatic for it, but I always wondered what the 3 meant because I thought it was a semi-resurrection of a series. When I finally bought it, I played for a while (to the point that I lost track of time) and sometimes my brother would see me play. Eventually I discovered the Empires spin-offs and bought the Samurai 2 one a few months back for PS2 (which my brother got as a gift). I also discovered the Warriors Orochi games by then and the first game I personally played on the Wii U was Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper. I hope Samurai Warriors 4 comes to Wii U....

I think a friend of mine introduced me to Warriors Orochi. And when I researched more information/walkthrough about the game, I found links that lead me to Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

In an PS2 gaming magazine, at a time, where these were my number one info source. It was under the news on the very first pages and it gave me every infos i needed. That it is from Koei, being identical to the DW series, but based on the japanese sengoku era.

I found out about Dynasty Warriors series in 2010 and became a real fangirl of Zhao Yun, so when I saw another guy with him on Warriors Orochi 3 cover, I had to find out who it was. That's how I found out about Yukimura and whole Samurai Warriors series :D

I was playing dw5 and saw a trailer for samurai warriors on there but wasnt interested then somehow on youtube i stumbled upon warriors orochi gameplay videos and it said the game was a crossover of samurai and dynasty warriors. I thought that was cool so i picked up warriors orochi and loved it, then went on to try samurai warriors 2 because i didnt want the older title and i didnt own a wii to get sw3

A few years back my uncle had an Xbox that he did "stuff" to. He had at least 60 games on it, among them was Samurai Warriors, which my uncle liked because of a certain ninja that refused to speak no matter how much I bothered him.

Started with DW4 and became instantly a fan of KOEI games. Always got interest and love for Eastern/Orient stuff, and when I saw trailer of SW1, I thought why not. I bought it and liked it.

I didn't find out about it until I played the first Warriors Orochi game. I took a long hiatus from DW games after part 3, but WO just looked really interesting to me and I remember being shocked after reading the number of playable characters on the back and remember thinking "There are THAT many DW characters now??? " So I picked it up.....and didn't regret it.

When I saw all the SW characters in it for the first time, I was like: "Who the heck are these people..? They don't have that DW style.....but I REALLY like their style! " Then after seeing Magoichi: "IS HE USING A RIFLE?????!!!! :OMG: " Fell in love with the SW games instantly after that.

Probably during my PSP's early days in my possession. My brother was playing DW Vol.2 and I saw them SW2 characters in his army. Then I got more familiar when I attempted to play SW: State of War only to realize Oichi was so different in SW1 and SW2 appearance-wise.

Anyway, I borrowed SW2 from a friend at first. Then after a while, I found about other Koei games. ^_^

I actually first discovered the character from playing Pokemon Conquest for the Nintendo DS. With some further research since all the character designs were top notch for a Pokemon game, my sister found a video of Hanbei gameplay from Samurai Warriors 3. Then, I went to my local gaming store and picked up Samurai Warriors and Samurai Warriors 2 (We don't have a Wii, so go figure) for a great price and never regretted it since.

I just wish I got into the series a bit earlier than I did. Oh well.

I found out b/c I was a fan of DW and then I heard they were doing a Japan spin off. I didn't care much at first TBH and I still haven't officially played the "official" SW releases, but I enjoyed some of the characters when I played the Orochi series.

I also played Shogun: Total War (the very first one! In like 2000!) so I had a basic idea of the Sengoku era. (Well the Total War series is *rather* more accurate then SW LOL!) But I really like some of the SW girls from playing Orochi and so I still post here from time to time. :p

Randomly looking for games for 360 and got SW2. Only regret was getting the 360! lol
Played SW1 on PS2 and skipped the rest on Nintendo brand. Just hoping for SW4E. Honestly SW in general needs more love. People know Dynasty too well over all others, well maybe Hyrule.
